Was out shooting clays a few years back at a pretty remote spot in darrington, when a couple older guys from seattle pulled up and politely asked if they could join us, they opened up the back of their Excursion and had an absolute arsenal... one of which being a preban H&K 91, which they let me run a couple hundred rounds through in exchange for throwing them some clays.... never felt so Schwarzenegger in my life

You guys use ammoseek right? If you don't want Russian steel case or German/Malaysian/Ethiopian military surplus I'm seeing Lake City for 49 cents/rd plus shipping.

My understanding is the 91 tears the brass up pretty bad so reloading is kind of hard. Not sure if steel will fuck it up or not. IF I get it, it will be the most valuable gun I have so I dont want to do anything Fuddy with it.

All my dad ever told me was it beat the brass up, I had no idea it trashed it like that. Thats fuckin crazy. I've heard it does that to deny the brass to the enemy, but do other rifles do that?

It's just the way it is with the roller lock design. I think the dents come from violently hitting the receiver and brass deflector on the way out. The black tiger stripes are from the fluted chamber. People still reload them and I've heard of some buffers that mitigate the dents.

Good lord. It looks like those have been through a garbage disposal. No way I would guess the two on the left came out of a functioning rifle.

I replace the grip on my AR-10. Highly recommend this grip or any other look alike. Now I have to go and replace all my other grips with one. They should come this way from the factory as far as I'm concerned.

For those that plan to buy a "semiautomatic assault rifle" in Washington after 7/1/19, the fee per "SAR" has been set to $18 by the Department of Licensing. That's over and above any transfer fee charged by the dealer, or profit markup.

    For example:
    $300 Ruger 10/22
    $30 Sales Tax
    $18 SAR Fee
    $348 grand total (16.0% effective tax/fee rate)**

**Doesn't include the cost of the training class you are required to take, every 5 years, to purchase one, so add $0-$200 depending on how/when/where you take it.

So after 7/1, I cannot purchase a 'SAR' without the prior completion of a class?

Yep. You need to have had a "training class" that meets the requirements set out in I-1639. I think one place was offering it online for $20 (intro rate of $10). Here it is: https://www.rifleclass.com/
