Buy once, cry once. What are some things you wish you have shelled the extra cash out for initially?

A few things come to mind on my Tacoma, and one is not ordering so many stupid decals or purchasing a used OEM tonneau cover. I am in the market for a lift/tires/slider upgrade and am tired of buying things twice.

What are some things you wish you would have not "cheaped" out on?

 

Lift kit

Windshield wipers. Got some generic ones once and all it did was smear the water. Went straight back to the store an hour later.

 

I wish I had cheapened out and gotten the manual transmission instead of the automatic.

 

I’m in the reverse situation as well.I got those expensive carhartt seat covers. Garbage. Wish I had cheaped out for something nicer.

 

Have you driven a manual?

Yes, I test drove both the automatic and the manual before buying.

But I already own a car with manual transmission, and the automatic Tacomas were easier to locate...

 

Yeah, I bought an actual manual vehicle. The manual in the taco was like driving a 3 cyl. Metro.

But that’s just my opinion, man

 

And the automatic drives like a broken CVT. Take your pick.

 

it was, true. then you didn't fix it. but all of us who got OV for MT did (and maybe some other mods over here as well). the truck is a blast to drive. but it definitely did not start out that way
