Great product, 2+ years, and one of the most useful mods I've done. Easy install. Use a center punch and a bit-stop when you drill. As always, measure, measure, measure - then drill.

Here's an easy way to make a drill stop. Run the drill bit through a small piece of wood. Then adjust the drill depth in the chuck so the bit is sticking out past the wood by the desired amount. It doesn't matter if the wood is square, round, triangle, whatever, as long as the thickness is about right.

A little of this and a little of that.
The Redline hood struts are one of my favorite mods for these trucks. Straightforward install and quality products.

Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
Used to think the idea of hood struts was something for goddamn weaklings. Then I got this '19 4Runner, which has hood struts (so pretty next to the 2nd gen Tacoma).

Call me a weakling, but I'm gonna install struts in the Tacoma first chance I get. :D

I installed mine about 3 years ago and love it. Easy install to do. Regarding the video above, I just used some touch-up paint I had to seal the holes I drilled. Any color will do but using the brush from a standard touch-up paint bottle is way easier than trying to mask and spray paint.

I also used a couple of magnets to hold my hood bracket in place as I double checked my measurements.

    All done.
