Went under the truck today to grease front end driveshaft and I noticed this. It feels dry so is it something to bring up or normal?

Edit for update, dealer said since it's not a 2016, Toyota says it is completely normal. Tech retorqued bolts said keep an eye out on it and bring it back if it leaks again

Leakin'. Looks like it might be coming from the breather.

If it was just the diff breather the wetness would only be below that breather. This goes all around the 3rd member ring

I’d let the dealer do it so its on them- there was a TSB for it on the ‘16’s but tell them to warranty fix it
    if it keeps up.

Mine wasn't half as bad as yours. Took it to the dealer and got it fixed under warranty. New gasket and whatnot.

Take it to the dealer. My diff was doing the same thing, not as bad as yours and they fixed it under warranty/tsb.

Do not tighten the bolts! Its a bad gasket, tightening the bolts will do nothing. Just take it in and let them fix
    It.

If it was the breather the diff has wayyyy too much oil in it.

I don't think there's a gasket there. Could be wrong but maybe they pulled the diff for that TSB on the rear end and what you're seeing is some residue from the sealant .

Yes! There was a guy who bought an off road 3rd gen, quit his job and took his new truck on a road trip, and some off roading trips. Long story short, fucked up his engine and surprisingly toyota replaced it for him.

There was a thread about this recently. I think it was called " any thruth to this article?" But i cant find it. Dude actually made a website why not to buy taco for off roading.

Hopefully others with more computer skills can chime in.
