The titanium, ebay, been collecting for years. When I see good prices I snag em. Alumn, mild steel, & stainless I buy from my local metal supplier IMS. Specialty alloys I buy from Mcmaster.

 

The knobs? I doubt I could make those.

 

Figured. I usually get my my shit from McMaster.

 

Oh well that’s neat. The 1KZ-TE is the engine I would love to swap because it’ll bolt right into the A340F. The 1KZ already came mates to the W/R/A340 series transmissions on Hilux and 4Runner so you don’t have to modify any of the transmission mounts or replace the transmission at all.

Here’s one I found when I was in the Philippines. They’re pretty common engines over there, guy told me they sold it to the Philippine Navy and it was going in a 2 1/2 ton military truck. That’s a 4Runner A340E on the back of it by the looks of the tail section.

 

Mcmaster is kind of expensive but I buy from them cause I'll get it the next day.

If I need to buy titanium in a size I don't have I buy it from American Metals Exchange. He's on a knife forum that I go on but he sells on ebay too.

I also have 2 pieces of zirconim, that stuff costs way more than titanium!

 

Eh I get a discount from my fathers place of employment on McMaster. So that helps.

Just saying there are plenty of other places that sell metal for way cheaper than Mcmaster but can't beat Mcmaster's quality & service, and they have most alloys in stock. Mcmaster is not really a good source if you need to buy a bunch of metal.

 

The intercooler version of the 1KZ can do 145 HP with 253 ft-lbs of torque at 2,000 RPM. Not that different from a stock 3RZ horsepower wise. The 3RZ does 177 ft-lbs of torque at 4,000 RPM.

You'll never learn of you don't start playing around with those machines. I didn't know anything either. I started off by buying a mini lathe from HF & had no idea what the hell I was doing
