Loaded up for a long weekend adventure with the family. My wife has to work today so I’m headed out early to set up camp and she’ll bring the kids tonight. I gotta work too, but I can work from the road a little.

Still not 100% happy on the setup and gear we’ve picked. Both of us bought a lot of stuff without regard to pack size, and my wife subscribed to the “bring it just in case” school of thought. Shoulda bought a long bed...

The wine’s for work, not the trip lol.

I'd argue that mine qualifies as a "good solution for a rack that allows you to keep full functionality of the roll-up"...

It just requires a little research and proper planning to ensure all the pieces work together without issues.

Yeah, the Mobtown bars were designed specifically for the roll-up tonneaus to fit under them. I believe the clearance is 6.5". I had a tri-fold and didn't like the height, so I modified mine.

Here's the invoice from my order.

This is for an exact replacement to the original bars, except that they're black anodized.

    *******************************

Here is the invoice for the bars that I eventually used. These were wider than the original bars, cut shorter, have bigger end taps, and they're black.

These will not fit the original vertical risers without major cutting and modifications to the risers.

One of my favorite spots, and with all the snow we've got the little creek is sure flowing.

Last couple times I have been out the weather has been perfect and no bugs so just skipped the tent part and slept in the bed on my big air mattress. Nice going to sleep staring at the stars and waking up to a view.

Seems like an awesome time to get out there! Probably not a lot of people around.

It was great! The crowds were minimal. This spot is near the GWH Bush Sequoia Grove, and thankfully some 4x4 folks had cleared tight bypasses around all the fallen trees on the forest road that led me there. There was no one out there but me and all the animal tracks. Under the orange tarp is a bikepacking rig I can use if the trail hasn’t been adequately cleared; it’s also a way to get help if the truck gets stuck.

After a hike up Mount Catherine, my wife, our dogs and I are camping tonight at Keechelus Lake, near Snoqualmie Pass. The camping area is only about a half mile from I-90. No, it's not the most interesting campsite but it's scenic, free and it's on our way to tomorrow's destination.

Y'all ever been to lost lake? They stock it with 14" trout.

When I was trucking I probably drove past that lake 10,000 times and slept on the Pass (on I90) several times. But never thought to actually go camping up there.

I'll second the Mobtown load bars. I don't have a tonneau cover over my bed, but with my tire gate on the back they enable me to still carry oversized/extended cargo and also give me a place to mount my RTT. To pack smaller cargo items up there, I put a pallet on the bars and stack boxes on that with some cargo straps.

Nice setup. Glad to see how good that Leer shell looks. I'm ordering a 180 for mine this week.
