People Tesla swap the EV Ford Rangers all the time.

Autos are boring. I would never have one in a "sports" car, it ruins the experience, well except an American car. If I had a 2z in my truck, yeah auto for sure.

 

Nah, they don’t give a hoot if it doesn’t produce any emissions. They even let you drive in the carpool lanes solo with an EV or hybrid. In fact, they give you money for buying an EV. The federal government gave us a $7,500 rebate, and the CA government gave us a $2,500 rebate just for having an EV.

That’s why the classic car scene is so huge here. You can do whatever you want pre-1975.

sadly the sports car i really want only comes with an 8 speed auto. but the lotus is a manual... really depends on what i can afford in a few years. RCF is damn fun though

 

but the EV cars do produce emissions. the energy comes from somewhere that burns something. (unless your nuclear or hydro electric)

Yeah something like that but not really. It depends on the chassis/type of vehicle. But that's just me.

 

Lotus is that weird company that starts production for other car brands. Lotus made the Tesla Roadster and the DeLorean DMC-12.

but the elise is best car ever. corolla engine, 6 speed manual, no amenities. its a true sports car

 

I obviously enjoy slow cars, so my next car will be a DMC-12.

 

Lotus is/was a race team, sort of like McLaren. They helped design and/or engineer lots of vehicles, kind of like Pinifarina (more of a coachbuilder) in a way. Many cars that you would never even think of, neither did I. Like the Isuzu Impulse, wtf! They helped design the suspension on that car. Kia & Hyundai too. Lol

 

had me going for a bit when you changed to Frontier man but I really didn't think of it. At first I was like where did this Frontier guy come from & then bam it clicked. Lol

 

Are they all DMC-12? Like did they have other DMC numbers? If no, why 12? And A while back I heard they were going to reproduce the Delorean and with a better more powerful engine. Is that true? But I never heard anything more about that.

 

DeLorean designed a city bus, the DMC-80 but it never went into production.

And yes, you can still buy a new DeLorean from the company in Texas with an electric drivetrain. The entire thing is made from NOS parts except the engine obviously. They’re still getting permitting and licensing from the U.S. Govt. for a low production vehicle.

It’s DMC-12 because $12,000 was the intended MSRP. It never sold for that cheap though.
