Oh that's a good idea, the one on there was on my truck before the new bumper so it was "free" but I like that one

 

Well we don't have the car yet. Really looking for a cheap 06+ BMW then the whole drivetrain from the supra will go in it. We're in between things right now with Barry looking for a house and me making sure I get all the baby time I can handle.

Oh it def could. I love the way that car looks all black and not race car but that 7m won't cut it.

 

It'll get swapped out eventually. I don't want it either but have other more pressing issues

That's because it saved them close to a billion dollars over developing their own straight 6 and testing it. It's the same as finding an existing axle and swapping it in your truck rather than building one from scratch, as in mining the metal etc....

Talking with a few of my co workers who were former aircraft techs who have 300kmile + BMWs, they say they are easy to work on and keep running if you follow the maintenance time lines and use the manual when repairing. That alone alienates 99.9% of auto owners in america.

 

I have heard other people describe German cars similarly. When the manual says "recommended at xx miles", it actually means "fuking do it no later than this or else".

I was looking at Craigslist autos and sorted by low to high, and all the 3rd gen 4runners on there for <$1500 had no issues. All the other cars had blown engines, head gaskets, or fucked up trannys + possible no AC. Kinda funny. You can beat the piss out of a 3.4L and it will keep going.

 

Guarentee you most of those 3rd gen runners had problems. No piece of machinery is immune to shitty or lack of maintenance.

 

Actually they did, it was body damage mostly. Pretty substantial to fix

 

Ok guys that have replaced rack and pinions. I got a leak on the ends as my boots have a color change of fluid. What’s the best way to go about this rebuild, replace, dealer, auto parts store. I know nothing about rack and pinion. What should I do. Ali need to probably change out my inner tie rods at the same time as truck has160k now.
