What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I found some rust on both sides of the rockers under the rear corners of the cab.

I poked out off the rusted stuff, cut out the area abd tacked some plates in the holes.

Tomorrow im going to bondo and paint the areas.

I borrowed a self shielf flux core machine from work - i wish I had my own nice welder it worked though.

 

I put on a new rear license plate and swapped the registration and insurance for the new state I'm living in. I still need to pull the old front plate, but I didn't feel like messing with it this afternoon. The plate is bolted to the lower part of my Demello bumper, and it's a tight to get behind it.

 

Because a Ridgeline crossed the road in front of me, causing me to stand on the brakes and stop 6" from his A pillar...!!

 

Yep, done that before lol. I placed plywood beneath the ladders’ legs so that it’s on a flat surface and not on the beds’ ridges

 

I could be wrong but I think the earlier gen 2 frames have a factory recall they will replace it.

 

I’m looking at getting a grill guard for my truck but I don’t want to break the bank, I see a few locally from GMCs and F150s, will these still fit onto the midsize frame and fit the body style good enough ?

 

Ladder on planks on lumber rack(with chain saw). Probably not the first, I wonder what the survival rate is for that particular dumbfuckery.

 

Looks like my 2012 when it got T boned. The more the body shop looked at it the more damage they found....... Sorry about your truck.

 

Cleaned and repainted the floor where clutch master cylinder leaked. Putting it all back together tomorrow once I get the carpet back from the cleaners

I wanted to replace the dashboard due to the paint peeling near the defroster and the carpet was in bad shape. I thought to myself, why put badly scratched and broken parts back into a truck with new dash and carpet.
I've since replaced 90% of my interior with new parts (helps that I get a discount). I hope to finish the wiring for my navigation install so I can install the remaining panels.

 

Not sure what you mean. New offering from @HomerTaco? New out of the box before he modified it?

 

After 8 years....finally removed the dealer sticker from my tailgate. It was right under the letters TAC.


Cleaned the residue with goof-off and applied some wax - got a little excited apparently.

 

Loaded for the beach!

 

Gave it its first pin.

 

Cleaned up the battery tray area, painted the tray grey, laid down some Rustoleum black on the surface rust and installed the brand new Autocraft Platinum AGM battery bought off marketplace for $70.00
