See? You do feel special. That’s what your dealer and Toyota want. My point exactly.

BTW, if you really want to provide context, you left out the most important numbers: Porsche sells less than 60,000 units every year; Toyota sells 240,000 Tacomas alone.

10,000 / 240,000 = 4% are Pros. That’s pretty limited, wouldn’t you say? Perhaps not for a P guy, but definitely for Toyota.

I will never feel special in a pro, happy but not special. The fact that Toyota sells 1/4 million cars a year vs Porsche 57K makes any Porsche exclusive. Factor in 1400 Gt3 RS in the wild, to date I’ve never seen one other than a car show or track. Nothing to prove as my cars are used as intended. Before you shoot off at the mouth, think about what the markets dictating as supply and demand vs ADM’ that’s dealers have and bern charging. Good luck waking Into a P car dealer and obtaining a GT car. Walk into most Toyota dealers walk out with a Pro same day. Don’t get me wrong I really like the Pro for what it is, exclusive it is not.Your statements are an unsolicited false comparison. Let me know when you see an RS in the wild. Porsche only produces the gt3 RS once every 3-4 years, pros are produced every year. This is my exclusive one and only car. FWIW at 50 years, I’m not modding any more cars for reasons that work for me.
The first set of keys I grab for well:

That is a load of shit.

Toyota is not the only seller of TRD Pro OEM parts and Toyota will never refuse to sell you something.

Seems they would be cutting their own throat by refusing to sell any part we wanted.

Oh but Porsche will refuse to sell you cars. They will never dilute the brand by offering much of a discount. Hell the current GT the heritage speedster in commanding 175k premiums above MSRP. You made one big mistake in your production umbers Toyota vs Porsche: Toyota makes the pro every year, year after year. Porsche only makes the RS once every 3-4 years. You may know Toyota, but I know Porsche.

Toyota wouldn’t be in this awkward position if it hadn’t put that ugly cheese grater on OR and Sport. Now it is trying to stop the unstoppable.

I believe their logic is to force your hand to upgrade to the pro, bigger bottom line. FWIW the production numbers for the pro in 18 were 10k units. 19 they upped it to 12k units. Toyota wants to sell more pros.

I have no idea why you are quoting me talking about Porsches. The original post is about TRD Pros. My comment was about TRD Pros.

My dealer asks for a vin just to make it easier to find the correct part. If I need a part from another model, we just get a vin from a truck on the dealers lot.

I am quoting you as you made an ignorant false equivalence about production numbers overall then the percentages of pros v GT cars. You were negligent in mentioning these GT cars are not produced every year but every 4 years. You would need to add the 4 years of “standard” Porsche production numbers vs their once in a blue moon gt cars.
Let’s start from the very beginning: how about you say “enjoy” “good luck” or say nothing. Pretty simple man, nothing positive just move on.

My original comment had nothing to do with Porsches. It was replying to the original post NOT you.

My post also said nothing about production numbers. You must be on something...

Watch how confused your Toyota dealership gets when you modify your Tacoma. If you need parts they seem to only know how to order parts using your vehicles VIN number. I have an SR Tacoma with a TRD grill and Limited Fog lights and trim and SR5 door emblems.
I hit a deer and it took them 2 months to get the parts because they insisted on ordering parts with the VIN even though we repeatedly kept telling them that this is a modified Tacoma. I even gave them the part numbers and they repeatedly kept screwing it up. My body shop eventually told me to take my truck home until they figured it out.
They finally did and when it was over I was sitting on 2 TRD grills and a SR grill which they then told me to keep. At one point they even said I was violating my warranty for installing Toyota parts on my truck that were not SR parts. I laughed.

Your dealer is good at what he does. He wants you to feel like you need to upgrade to the pro to get that special Toyota plastic. Extract money from you that’s the reason why he is there.
