The only reason I bring it up ... this one actually sounded authentic. I know better, but, I was curious. So I pressed "1".

I know there are enough people that fall for it to make it worth their time to do it.

We need to supprt legislation to control robodialing. IT IS ALREADY ILLEGAL. Why does the phone company(s) still let it happen????

There's activity in the robo-call wars. You should hear stuff about it soon. They just have to make sure they don't accidentally block the "free speach" political spam.

I have gotten the SSA as well as the IRS scam calls. I used to answer them and play with person (generally from India with piss poor English) by telling them I have a hearing issue and can they speak louder so I can understand them. They would finally get aggravated and hang up. Only to get more calls as time went on. I don't use or answer the house phone anymore. An elderly neighbor got scammed with the "Grandmom I was arrested and need bail money" scam. Cost her $2000.00. If you have any elderly neighbors, pass the word to them to beware of such calls. The Washington folks have finally put the word out to the phone companies to put the robo call blockers into effect at no cost to the consumer buttt sooner or later we will end up paying.

Seems less calls should mean more profit. The calls come from invalud numbers.
I obviously do not understand that logic.

I don’t answer my phone. I let the answering machine do it.
I have an old school tone maker that auto answers and hangs up the call.

    What is that?

We have no answering machine on the home line. We answer and hang up.

These calls were all on my cell. Very uncommon for me to get calls there.

Unless it’s on my call list on my cell I don’t answer.

From Wikipedia: Top Tier Detergent Gasoline and Top Tier Diesel Fuel are performance specifications and trademarks designed and supported by several major automakers. BMW, General Motors, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Ford, Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Navistar, and Audi support the gasoline standard, while General Motors, Volkswagen, Detroit Diesel, and Navistar support the diesel standard (as of 2018). Each of these automakers recommends the use of Top Tier Detergent Gasoline in their owner's manuals. Top Tier fuels must maintain levels of detergent additives that result in a higher standard of engine cleanliness and performance as compared to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirement. In addition, Top Tier fuels may not contain metallic additives, which can harm the vehicle emission system and create pollutants. As of 2018, Top Tier Detergent Gasoline is available from 61 licensed retail brands and Top Tier Diesel Fuel is available from 5 licensed retail brands.

Licensed Top Tier fuel retailers use a higher level of detergent additives compared to other non Top Tier retailers using only the minimum EPA required detergent additives in order to help prevent the buildup of harmful engine deposits which may reduce fuel economy and optimal engine performance. According to an automotive industry spokesman, the regular use of this type of gasoline results in improved engine life.[1]

A much more thorough way of communicating what I was trying to say in an earlier post.

Thanks for posting this with some facts as my post only offered opinions even though they were pretty accurate.

Got a text from my girlfriend the other day. Apparently her name is Amanda, and she wanted to get together for se_. I didn't open the text, so I couldn't read the rest of the text. I showed it to my wife and asked her how to delete the text without opening it. The funniest part is, "Amanda" (or Armando) sent my text to 18 other people. LOL

We knew what you intended. Tier 1, Top Tier more or less implies the same conclusion.

No criticism from me. The older I get the more often I say one word while thinking another. Fortunately my wife catches a lot of these. Then I wonder how often I do this when she is not around.:)

Good morning Susan and gang. Still cool again out west, woodstove is still in use, talking over 100 this next week down in the valley.
Took receipt of another old backpacking stove, this one only 99. Another Primus 96. 38 different years now, plus two with no dating which are fairly young after they stopping dating them.

Hey, wait a sec -- I thought Amanda was *my* girlfriend! (It's a long distance relationship...)

I've gotten spam texts but never a spam sext.

    Good morning Susan, gang,
Mowed my lawn for the first time this year last Sunday, doesn't grow very fast. The reseeded area is maybe 85 to 90% coverage. Need to figure out if flat rocks or pavers would look best if at all where I walk so it doesn't look beat down. A small area, so concerned a walk will over whelm the lawn look. May be better than a worn path thru the lawn though. Cottonwood trees are cottoning real good, fluff everywhere.

Started mowing at 6:30 am. We had record rain this week ,4" in one day. Most since 1962. Streets were flooded everywhere but the Tacoma sits up high enough to make it home through the waves. Almost a full moon too which doesn't help with high tide.
