Looking to buy a pair of running boards that are available in Canada. Want a board that is wide enough to protect from door dings and slush from splashing up. I prefer flat black paint. TIA

I just bought my 2019 Tacoma last week in Victoria B.C. It came with a step bar that had a black plastic composite insert that turns it into a running board. Seems to be high quality but it should be for a dealer charge of $821Cdn. I thought about having Toyota remove it to reduce the cost of my purchase, but I also thought it seemed stupid to get it removed, only to go to a truck accessories shop and have a different running board installed, just to save $200-$300 and then maybe not getting as nice of a running board.

Running boards won’t prevent door dings. Parking farther out in the lot will. Pickups, vans, suv’s, cars with pointed rear doors and shopping carts can ding you.

The running boards help with dings, but if a truck parks along side of you he clears the board, best to do what Jim1946 said. I already parked away from everyone and when I come out from the store sure enough some acid head is parked along side me

I have owned two trucks with running boards to prevent door dings and it does help to some degree. Myself and everyone I know have tried parking in the back 40, and sure as shit there is beat-up caravan so close we need a can opener to get in. It is very frustrating. Anyways I just ordered some RB's from Amazon. Iboards 6" black matte. built by APS. People seem to be satisfied with them at a good price.

There seems to be B model and a W model. The B has rectangular ends and W(maybe for wedge) is wedge shaped on the ends. I ordered the wedge style so I hope I get them.

Disregard the above post. The W in the part # Iboard-TR058W is for Black paint, L is for Silver. There is a video on You tube for this product-How to install iboard running boards on your Ram by BoostedMotorsports. They do look good on the Ram.
