Still need to finish all the welding and get the bumps set up, but it’s mostly done.

Order this on Amazon. I get it tomorrow. Then I’ll swap it over to the marker lights.

 

Does anyone happen to know if the felt headliner is interchangeable whith vinyl headliner from the earlier years? I don't know if there's some sort of mounting structure they changed later on.

I have the vinyl now but an thinking about swapping to felt if its possible.

 

I keep dancing around the idea of adding a sunroof, but the bows in the vinyl headliner are a complication I can't seem to find a work-around to. The felt headliner, with it's rigid backing would be much simpler to work with. Otherwise, I like my headliner just fine. Thx for the suggestion, tho.

 

So you have the felt headliner, correct? How exactly does it stay in place? The vinyl is tucked into the front and back glass weatherstrip.

 

Those contacts are common and standard supply at any auto electrical shop. I got them at local auto electric shop with a plunger for like 10 bucks

i know it looks weird. the extended look is due to a swing out for the hitch basket and hitch drop. after installing the high clearance bumper i couldnt open my bed drawers so i had to install the drop. the basket extends out too.

Tried out my Map gas torch and Air impact on 03 Tacoma rear bumper and receiver hitch. Now onto the wheels.

 

Please tell me where to find rectangular frame plugs. The hole is 1.25 by .75

 

1) Finished up the DEI Cool Tape installation project.
2) Bolted/torqued up the exhaust crossover and Y-Pipe.
3) Installed a new Denso O2 sensor in the Y-Pipe.
4) Installed new exhaust gaskets for crossover, Y-Pipe, and connection with the cat. I plan to replace the exhaust system from the cat back when the weather cools in the fall.
5) Installed the motor mounts for the new engine and torqued everything down.
6) Cleaned up the transmission pan/filter and reinstalled it with the Red Toyota FIPG.
7) Started installing engine heat shields.
8) The new starter is under the truck and ready to go into position.
9) I'm going out to find some electrical stuff for making a 16" pigtail for the downstream O2 sensor.
10) Need to pick up some 1" flame retardant flex conduit for the wiring harness refurbish project. I think I will go to NAPS to see what they have in this area.

Engine bolted down to motor mounts. I got to put the Engine Stabilizer Bar back in its corner of the workshop until the next major project.

 

Idaho mountains and hills, like the Tetons etc, are definitely an underappreciated outdoor scene. Nice to see you giving it some love

As luck would have it I snapped a brand new LBJ bolt as I was torqueing it down to 59ftlbs...right after I installed the new LBJ

How do I go about getting the half bolt out that's still inside the balljoint? It's the inside bolt that doesn't go all the way through





These were brand new OEM bolts too, wtf

 

Drill+easy out. (They're never "easy" but they do work...sometimes)
