After seeing my build spread out across many different threads I decided to compile it all here.

So it all started when the wife and I sold our 04 Red Crew Cab Shortbed, she has been driving toyotas since highschool and as soon as i met her I loved her truck. it was so fun to drive and let us go do so much without chewing through the gas of a fullsize. We still to this day miss the old red one.

We Cleaned it up and posted a CL ad and within 6 hours someone from Albuquerque was on their way to Flagstaff in a snow storm to pick it up.

Oh well, on to the new one!

I will be updating this constantly

So this build started 6 years ago when we sold our '04 Crew Cab for this. This is my wife's daily driver to and from the hospital. We found this one in nearly perfect condition and it had a roll top bed cover and rims, really that was about it. I don't have a lot of previous photos as we weren't really modifying it too drastically from the get go.

I did some of the less drastic mods to make her life more comfortable, Wet okole Seat covers, New Alpine Deck and installed the soundsystem.

Our first big upgrade was a Leer 180 xl cap that was carpeted and had a storage net up top, sliders on the sides, and a removable front window, and a set of thule bars.

The day we got it back with the new cap!

Then I built a set of bike racks so we could go play around.

Well the obsession had begun, because it wasn't long before I ordered a Frontrunner rack for it.

And of course what rack isn't complete without a crappy light bar!

Man, I thought this looked awesome at the time!

So of course, we went to Telluride and drove Imogene

    and headed over to silverton.

Shortly after silverton we decided to take a trip up the California coast, wanted to check out Big Sur but this was right in the middle of that horrendous winter storm that caused all that damage years ago.

I built out the first iteration of a bed platform for sleeping for the two of us,
and a makeshift storage system for the lower part.

Then off to the cold coast we went

I will say this was the coldest 7 days of my life.

Our camps looked like this, and our. View out the bed of the truck looked like this for a few days.

After several days we got sick of it, and headed to Death Valley for a little heat.

    Back Home Atop Mt. Elden.

    Next came the morimoto retrofit

    New Plugs

Then Came the Lift, Tires, New Rims, FK29, Shims, LR UCA's, SS Brake Lines
    and Dakars

    Then Needle bearing

First we went and did broken arrow

Several weeks later after getting it aligned, we set out to Moab.

Nice shot of Ophir Pass in your first pic. That is a great loop: Ophir Pass to Telluride, over Imogene Pass to Ouray and back over Red Mt Pass to Silverton.

Great looking rig, and you are clearly enjoying it!

Wow, awesome build! I'm an avid mountain biker too, where are you located? Any recommendations on using a bike rack off road? My old trusty Thule T2 doesn't do well off pavement. The tailgate pad works the best but obviously doesn't work when hauling gear.
Also, are you comfortable sleeping in the 5' bed? I've tried in mine and it's pretty tight, even with the tailgate down.

Thanks man! Yeah it’s a super fun little drive! We are doing our best! Heading to Point Sublime this weekend!

I’m up in Flagstaff, I got a no name from some guy on CL that goes into the hitch, super heavy duty but also heavy. It has a latch so they can drop down and you can get tailgate access when it’s mounted.

As far as sleeping in the bed goes, we did a CA trip up the coast and a Moab trip sleeping in the bed on a platform but have since bought a RTT and I made a Offroad trailer. Much better sleeping situation than the bed. Loading and unloading all our stuff got old real quick. I’ll take setting up a RTT any day of the week.

Here are some pics of the current setup from my trailer build thread.

Made a trip to the cinders today after welding up a bracket for the dual arb compressor, and mounted some BD squadrons on ditch brackets.
