    And it changes nothing. You could tighten it all you want. It will still be there. I believe that’s oil from assembly getting warm and working it’s way outwards. The “fixes” when taken to the dealership when peoples sky is falling are simply fixes to placate the people over reacting.

    Every diff I’ve rebuilt, even the *tiniest* amount of oil will shadow like that.

    Dealer fixed mine last August and there is no more seepage. It’s bone dry.

    Ok update, I brought my truck in to the Toyota of orange. They said since it wasn't a 2016 according to Toyota it is completely normal. The tech did retorque the bolts and he said the fluid level was full when he checked but Toyota will not authorize any other action. He said keep an eye and if it gets wet to bring it back
