That's some weird looking stuff. I don't understand the drone aspect.

 

Drone is used for light painting. So the bolts of lighting is actually a drone. He does some cool shit

 

Most of the trails that are "kwown" is because they get a lot of traffic. Not so much in Wyo and MT which is nice.

 

I am planning to enter Wyoming on the north east corner and then going through bighorn NF to Yellowstone park, and from there I thought go to Montana...or maybe I do the same path the opposite side

 

Well stop at devil's tower since you'll drive by it.

Stopping at the tongue river canyon is cool. It's a short walk to the open cave there which goes almost 2 miles down. Bring some flash lights and check it out.

Up into the big horns if you want to take the dirt road way you could do red grade road from Sheridan all the way up into the mountains it will come out onto the highway eventually. Tons and tons of camping and options for roads to do whatever you want off or red grade. Hunt mountain road is kind of the only other road to get across the mountain sort of. Otherwise you'll be going in and out.

Not really anything towards Yellowstone as a lot of private land blocks access. That and the mountains are so rugged there's just no roads to begin with. Everything I know of in that area is longish in and out trails. But there are a few.

I wouldn't do morrison alone in a 2nd gen personally. Plus that won't open till July 15th at the earliest as will be the same for all the other trails up there mostly.

You could swing out to the Pryor's from the big horns which are pretty cool to cross.

 

What Monte said. He's using a drone with a big Fenix spot light on it. Must be remote triggered to do waypoints on those pillars. Super cool out of the box use for a drone.

With the Morrison Trail I am not sure yet if I want to do it or not, is it really bad or are the switchbacks the only nerve-racking part of the trail? I did last year one or two sketchy trails in Colorado, which turned out to be ok but at the moment of doing it I would have been happy not to attempt it.
We (friend and I) are planning to leave MI first week of August tho, because most when not all trails are normally open by then.

 

The trail isnt bad. The switch backs are no joke. Not super hard to drive per say but should be taken seriously in a life threatening way. They are narrow and very steep which is really the tricky part as the Apex of the corners can have 2-4' difference or more. There is literally nothing to winch off of if you get in a bad situation. Thus why going alone isn't super recommended especially with bigger trucks such as yours.

If you've done a lot of offroading you'll be smart and it'll be fine.

Also if you're a double cab long bed...would not do it. Nothing longer than a 2nd gen dbl short.

Kidding, just depends on where you go. Big horns and wind rivers have the most, if you look at the ohv maps online, that is your best bet.

 

I love this time of year. We are one week away from the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. At 9:30 pm local there was still enough light out to be able to setup camp.

True. I remember doing the bomb proof and 4xi one last time was a bitch. These were especially bad as it was all new for the block mounts too

What trails did you do in Colorado? If you're in an auto I don't see Morrison being too bad at all. Having to do 3 point turns going uphill in a standard gets a little sketchy though. It definitely isn't a trail to be taken lightly because of the consequences if a mistake is made but its not very technical in my opinion.
