I leave a footprint in the Backcountry...it can't be avoided. Should I say screw it and never return or destroy the place Everytime? No, you would say "just try your best"...so says op!

Welcome from a fellow vegan! I hope you find a trim level that works for you. I have a trd sport with cloth seats, and besides from possibly the steering wheel, I think the rest is synthetic leather.

Rather eat a steak or drive a VTEC? Assuming you don't call the 3.5 a VTEC...

Logic still flawed. "If" there was real leather in a new Taco, wouldn't that be the definition of systematic killing of animals? Purchasing a Taco would simply be causing more demand for said Tacos (and in turn, more systematic killing of animals). Replacing "leather" parts with vinyl etc. does not bring the cows back to life.

People do uncomfortable things to survive. I would know. I’ve seen tons of movies on it.

Decent point...but by changing the leather out, he instigates conversations here and he puts more money in the hands of those doing cruelty free products, and manufacturers may see both. Change is seldom whizz bang...

Please tell me this thread is a joke?

If not, I totally suggest buying a vehicle with Soy based wiring.

Honestly I think everyone should try a vegan diet for a month. It’s not that hard and you might be very surprised by the results.

I went vegan with my girlfriend for a month to support her and it ended up changing my life. I’ve always been fit so assumed I was also healthy, but only after going clean with my diet did I realize how crappy I actually felt all the time.

Low grade inflammation, poor gut health/microbiome, lower energy levels... when you feel like this ALL the time it feels normal and you don’t even realize something is wrong. Most people live their entire lives this way and simply never know the difference.

8 months now and without even really trying hard I’m 100% vegetarian and like 80% of my meals are vegan. Everything is better I’m more flexible, more energy, paddle faster and hold my breathe longer surfing and diving, feel amazing with 6 hours of sleep when I used to need 7-8, resting heart rate is down to low 50s.

Seriously just fucking try it you have nothing to lose.

Being in San Diego I know a ton of vegans and it’s kind of funny that the stereotype is actually the opposite. Most vegans don’t push it at all but whenever it comes up naturally in conversation non-vegans jump all over them with straw man arguments and bad faith questions. It’s weird, like being vegan is offensive to some people...

I changed my diet purely for health reasons, but the empathy for animals has kind of come around too. I’m not like OP, but I understand people like him. To explain the steering wheel thing try to put yourself in his shoes, this is a person that feels overwhelming empathy for animals. Someone like that doesn’t want to daily hold/touch/feel the dried flesh of another living being that was murdered for parts. That’s his PERSONAL feeling it’s not judgement towards those of us that don’t care, but why judge him for caring??

At least you tried it. I've done small things like veg. Yeast for protein on backpacking trips, oil instead of butter, etc and none of it has emasculated me. Why fear it?
