What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I recently stumbled upon this and watched the video. It seems very do-able, even for novices like myself.

How do you like it? Any draw backs or quirks?

 

slapped on some off road flares i picked up today...

 

Installed meso puddle lights, kicker CS front and rear speakers along with sound deadening.

 

Few minor detail upgrades.. it’s the little things

Installed some Lamin-X Amber fog light covers. Really like how they turned out and a great mod for a very low price.

 

Was able to thread the sheared bolt through the back with needle nose adjustable pliers and got a few extra… just in case


Finally got the 12v cig socket out of the armrest console. Hole needed to be bigger for the blue seas dual usb socket so decided it best to remove the console- 2 10mm bolts under the carpet pad and 2 clips (not really clips but not sure what to call it) and it pulls out super easy.


Used a step bit to make the hole 1 1/8” still need to connect the wires. Doesn’t look like I’ll be able to remove the terminals from the plug and slip them on, 1 terminal is not as wide. Also opted to remove the cover to keep it flush and honestly I don’t see a reason for the cover in the console anyways.

 

sprayed it on the main grille (didn't spray Toyota insert part), and applied two coats. figured it would help prevent or slow solar fading

 

Anyone buy their Husky liners off of Amazon?

They show the years 16-17 which is odd to specify. I've also read about complaints of fitment that seem out of context vs what I read about their stuff here.

EDIT: Well I guess we'll find out! I bought them after reading that 2018 and 19 owners got them and they worked fine. Also picked up an Intro-tech sunshade and the Subaru Tweeters.

It's nice that my truck was so well equipped off the lot that I can focus on necessary and fun stuff like this rather than tinkering with the cosmetics.

 

I really like that look on your Taco with that mod. I spend a lot of time trying to both emulate mods I see whist adding my own creativity (and borrowing from history occasionally). That mod works great with your color truck. I have a feeling that truck has taken the back roads to the mall a few times as well.

I ordered my Overlander 8 weeks ago. And it’s supposed to arrive this week. Can’t wait. In fairness to the dealer, he told me when I ordered it that it would be 8 weeks for ARE, or 3-4 weeks if I got a Leer.

 

Well we just celebrated our 1 year anniversary, Rhanks to the board I was able to find the right gifts for her.

Thanks man. I went with the amber ones instead of yellow.

 

No big upgrades but it’s the little things that can make a difference. Put in the glove box organizer and center console cover.

I was quoted about 4 weeks for it to be ready for install. Hope it doesn’t turn into 8.
