Got the hoses all secured. Wiring is almost done. Just have to run wires to meth pump. Wires to second coolant pump in bed. And the meth hose from pump to underhood. Then finally drive it.

I'm there so often they just let me walk in the back room to look for fittings and whatever. Get odd looks from others standing in line.

No ran out of wire. I’ll get it going this week. Got a little xrunner meet next weekend so she will be done by then.

Alright guys.. the other night pulling onto the street, heavy in the throttle, I could have sworn I saw some white smoke from the exhaust from the mirror. So this weekend I just did an oil change, cleaned the MAF, TB, and filter, all after a 2500+ mile road over memorial day week.

Took it for a sound afterwards, and noticed boost is down from 10-11.. to 7-8-9. The temps here have definitely been warm.. triple digits.. so I partially chalked it up to that.

This morning I checked again.. temps were around 80.. same thing.

I'm wondering if it might just be another vacuum leak like the one that was originally causing my low boost.. possibly at the blower again, or maybe the header flange or exhaust.

I haven't seen any smoke since..

    Otherwise.. head gasket? :pout:

What other checks can I do? I'm limited on what I can do and check due to a dislocated shoulder.. and down to one vehicle currently.

No good brother. Maybe a compression check. If hp tuning is your thing possible data to be collected that route? My 3 cents of ideas.

Could check for obvious contamination of the oil or coolant... possible signs of head gasket, to rule that out...

Not to worry you more, but a guy on Instagram contacted me to ask about a problem he was having, similar symptoms - ended up being a burnt valve. So a compression check should rule that out.

Vacuum leak check is a good idea.

I'll get a compression check done ASAP then.. I was wanting to get the HP tuner, but that's on the back burner until I sort this out. Didnt see any contaminates when I drained the oil. nothing out of the ordinary honestly.

I have a slight feeling and really hoping it might be a leak.. at the header flange or somewhere along the exhaust.. so I'll get that checked out at the same time.

I just cleaned it with this service. it wasnt even that bad. It's been worse.

117k miles on motor.. about 60k on the blower on my truck.. but it was used.. and prior mileage is unknown. I have done maintenance on it though. New coupler, oil, etc.

Catch Can didnt show anything out of the ordinary either.

Did have a couple coolant/power steering leaks under the truck. cleaned up and fixed those as well. I believe it was just due to shock from the fender bender I was in a while ago. re-clamped hoses and lines.

I'll start with a compression test and check from leaks again..

Comp test should tell. Hp tuner is so sweet I'd reccomend it.

117K is too low of mileage for anything to be wrong. I would chalk up the boost drop to be nothing more than drop due to heat. The white smoke may be due to nothing more than the fact that you had a momentary rich spike due to power enrichment engagement upon getting on the throttle past your percentage threshold.

You could do a compression test, and you could do a cylinder leakage test, but you may be chasing ghosts.

Yep, me too. Definitely time to supplement the cooling with some methanol.

My igloo hasn’t even melted fully yet so I’m still safely making boost up here.

Appreciate it man. Makes me feel a little better.. as I'm hopeful it's just the heat too.. It's just in the back of my mind ya know.

I still want to do a compression test just because.

What do you guys recommend for an intake, if any, with the stock blower and stock TRD flash? Waiting on magnuson to ship my kit and it just doesn't seem right to run the stock air box with the blower.
