I own a white 2017 TRD Sport 2wheel drive with 12000 miles on it. I was thinking of trading to 2019 TRD sport just like the one I have, with the 2019 have the added safety features.
I got the dealer down to $3,900.00 out the door. There is nothing wrong with the one I got now just wanting to keep the three more years of warranty . I bought the truck in May of 17. $150 a month is pretty cheap to own a truck even though as you see I don't drive it much.
Is this close to a good deal ?

Is the 3900 the difference you would pay? So you give them your truck and 4k and walk out with a brand new truck?

$3900 sounds like a good deal to me, but I would wait for the 2020.

I think he means 39 hundred with his truck as a trade and I would wait a couple of months for the 2020 to come out. You already know what he will give you on your trade

Yes, $3,900.00 out the door and I drive away in a new truck. I have no use for a 4x4. Never owned one and don't plan on it. My truck is show room clean , garage kept.

I doubt I could trade for a 2020 for $3,900.00 and that's about all I want to pay. What is supposed to be new in 2020 ?

Bad price for a non 4x4 and it's much less expensive and bothersome to simply buy an extended warranty.

Does that price even take taxes into account or you get trade in credit?

No way I would do it unless my vehicle had perhaps 36k miles and I was upgrading to a 4x4.

Also 2020 is a better option

Power seat, and you can adjust it a few different ways. What was the total trade in price you received? If you wait it will lessen and you will owe a little more but I think it’s worth the wait for the mid gen refresh. Also is your current truck fully paid off bc 3,900 is insanely good for a new truck

$3900 out the door to upgrade to a brand new truck is not too bad.

Like others have said, wait until the 2020’s come out. It’s only going to improve the deal for the 2019’s if you decide on that.

It depends on how important the 2020 upgrades are to you. There is power adjust driver's seat, Apple car Play, Panoramic view camera, LED headlights, Daytime Running Lights and fog lights. Of course some of these like power seats are extra $$ but I'd opt for all of these myself, and I'd be waiting for the 2020 if I was looking to trade up (which I'm not)

I paid cash for my truck in 2017 so no payments. The dealer started off at $5000. I made an offer of $3,900.00 last week and he said he doubt he could do it. Friday they called me and said yes.

Power seats I could care less about. I am the only person that drives this truck so I never move the seat. LED headlights is no big deal because I don't drive at night. I don't think I could ever find a better deal than this and if I wait I will pay more. I see there is no upgrades to this engine which is fine with me. Plenty of power as I don't tow anything but a trailer.

So go with the 2019. End of June is also end of quarter which usually brings some aggressive discounting by the dealerships trying to make their "numbers". Also consider that once the 2020's hit the lots and/or are officially released, 2019's could bring factory incentives... usually $1000 - $1500.

3900 seems like a good deal. Basically you only lost 4k in value in 2 years (according to the dealer) Probably would never be able to sell your truck to someone for that price and if you want all the TSS stuff, go for it man. 2 years newer truck with about 12k less miles for 4k? Not a bad trade to me

i just went through this process two months ago. I traded my 2016 SR5 2wd (with all tsb’s applied) for a 2019 TRD sport. I loved my 2016 but, wanted more features. I knew the 2020 was coming with new features but, had no interest in them. Like you, don’t need a 4X4. I rarely drive at night and have no problem finding a comfortable seat position. To my senses, the 2019 is slightly quieter and smoother riding. I have no issues with the transmission. The adaptive cruise works perfectly. I have taken three 200 mile plus trips over hill and dale and love everything about my 2019. So glad I made the trade. Additionally, the 2020 will probably cost more and my trade value will decrease.

Most new vehicles lose 4K the day you drive them off the lot .

Not sure these Taco's do. It has been 25 months and will have a new vehicle . I am also much older than the average Taco owner so I don't have that many more good years to drive a truck so might as well drive a new one now. I went 40 years and never bought anything but used ones and never paid much because I own a shop and could work on them myself.

Since it’s paid off the cheapest truck is the one you currently have. Given the payments on 4 grand wouldn’t be bad, I would do it to get 4wd if anything since yours is 2wd
