I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction.. I would like to install a remote start in my Tacoma, since I live in AZ and it’s gets to 120 degrees sometimes, it would help out a lot, getting the ac going.. I really don’t know where I would start looking for something like that, I’ve looked online and I get places like Auto Zone, Kragen, even Best Buy sells them but I’m not sure if there is a better brand or do they all do that same thing? Thanks again!

I know nothing about them but I would try a car stereo place or somewhere like 4WP. Most of them sell and install remote start

They are available on Amazon all plug and play...I’ve been using this for almost two years no issues. They all use the Fortin control unit. This one is for push button start and H-key is available as well.

My truck is push start, but I’m looking for remote start, does it matter if my truck is already push start?

That is the unit for push button start...press the remote lock button three times and the truck will start. Takes like 20 minutes to install because it’s plug and play pretty easy.

N2designs, is what I use and the customer service Jimmy provides is just the best. As particular and anal as I am the n2 design was so simple.

I did the same. 12volt was the first to offer a solution for the 3rd gen on these forums. It was months (much more?) before anyone else showed up. Customer service second to none although N2 does a great job of promotion here touting their customer service. The too have many happy customers.

I've never had a disconnect from the device or any need to "reset or re-install".

Not a single one. Very simple install and works as it should. I think I've had it since July of last year. I really like the iPhone app.

Plus 1 on @N2DesignsInc. This is who I went with. Do yourself a favor too, get the smart phone module.

Since you'll be held to the range of the stock remote range it's practically useless to cool the truck down in AZ sun. At least with the smart phone module you can start the car from virtually anywhere.

I did the n2designs remote start in less than 39 minutes and like it so much I got one for my son's Tacoma.
