Toyota uses Softex in the Tacoma and other models. Straight from the Toyota site:

"SofTex® is a synthetic leather seat material designed for wear, easy cleaning and resisting spills. Soft to the touch, SofTex weighs about half as much as genuine leather. The way it's made generates around 85% fewer CO2 emissions and 99% fewer Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) than conventional synthetic leather. It also does not include any animal-based material."

The vegan/animals rights companion thread is a few doors down in the off topic area somewhere.

I will be getting Raising Canes Chicken. The best chicken in the South, and the sweet tea is unbeatable.

Happy Father’s Day to my fellow dads...

    Form follows function
Beer: no data to support max safe amount (basically all amounts may have some negative health effects). Use at your own discretion.

Sugar: is bad for you, doesn't matter political view here. low fat/high carb/high ultra refined foods diet linked to increased overall morbidity(how sick you get)/mortality.

Perfume: makes your skin dry, don't care for this. alcohols in perfume evaporates causing your nose to pick up the smells (good), in the process alcohol dries your skin (bad).

Plastic bags (ones from grocery stores, thin ones you know): very useful. can be reused over and over again. unlike those silly reusable bags these cost less and take less energy to make. there was a recent study tackling this issues. You have to use those reusable ones like +20k to be carbon foot print equitable to plastic grocery store bags. these are better than paper ones as well (based on carbon footprint here again). California laws here are "no bueno." Cali has had an up-tick on its purchase of plastic bags (which are thicker and costs us more) since banning grocery store plastic bags.

Condoms: keep sti's down and allow for proper family planning.

Crayons: please don't eat them, lol.

I don't think this is an all-in or out discussion. Animal feelings aside, we should be good stewards of our resources since these are not infinite. I used to eat meat on a daily basis but found that this is not necessary (from a health standpoint) and save if for special events (ie father's day burger). How you balance that is up to you. I just get irritated when I see policy makers focus on their political base and not on the current data (ie plastic bags example noted above). Policies made blindly to force our hand into one way or another.

I hope to hurt no feelings in above statement.

Pic of the menu. Simple, only a few choices, great place for a family to eat with little fuss.

There's a couples therapy seminar and the speaker asks the audience, who has sex once a day? 10 people raise their hand. Who has sex once a week? 50 people raise their hand. Who has sex once a month? 25 people raise their hand. Who has sex once a year? One guy in the back jumps up screaming, I do, I do!!!! The speaker asks, why are you so excited? The guy replies, tonight's the night, tonight's the night!!!!!
