So you dont have to put the shifter to N from 4H to 4L right?
And you can lock the rear diff at 2wd?

 

For the MT, no you can just press the clutch in. I'm not sure of the sequence for the AT since I don't have one. You shift exactly the same way you would normally without the mod enabled.

 

Going from 4Hi to 4Lo is not different. You still have to be stopped with the clutch in (MT) or in Neutral with your foot on the brake (AT).

 

Would this also be the case if we source our own switch?
If so, how much would be involved if a guy wanted the lighting to be: text tied to dash lights and logo only when active?
I am guessing, just cut the wire feeding the text light, then wire nut cap it and tape off the exposed wire. Then, tap into the dash lighting from a nearby switch to feed the new switch.

 

Yes, it is due to the "y" splice at the switch connector.

If you want to locate a dash light ground connection, you can cut the "y" Splice, and connect it to the wire that goes to pin 3, labeled "Red 2" in the picture below.

 

Would you be able to add this as an optional hook up technique in your instructions, with the kit? I'm guessing others may want to wire up with this format.

 

I can add it to the instructions. If I end up doing another production run I can have them put in a pair of spade terminals to make it easier.

 

From my notes, you can activate MTS and Rear Locker in 2Low with this mod.

 

Perhaps I can take out the led, the blue switch always on will drive me bananas

 

I wired mine to be no light on normally, then both halves light up when pushed in.

If your in the round #3 group and you pay the $50 preorder fee, how long would it take for the order to be sent out? Still around the 25 days?

Yes, I have no control over the vendors lead time. If it is shorter, they will ship sooner.

The difference in shipping is only like $2 and with the limited number of orders to Canada I'm taking care of the difference.

There are several people that had expressed interest that I have not seen info from yet. I'm holding these spots open until Saturday morning.

 

For people that are absolutely wanting the LED on the switch to be tied into the stock illumination circuit, I may have a PnP option for you. The cargo light switch harness should be present (even if you don't have the switch to the left of the steering wheel). It has the necessary wiring and I have the connector information for it. It would be possible to provide an additional PNP harness that you could use on that stock connector. I am looking at details now. Since we still have the issue of different switch mounting locations, it would require crimping of a few spade connectors or soldering (not both). I just ordered the connectors to make one up to test.

If I can get this figured out quickly I can modify (or show instructions on how to modify) the 2LM harnesses once I get them to work with it.

 

Interested
