Wife and kids stranded

This sounds familiar. I put my truck in 4H once when pulling the boat out and forgot to turn it back to 2. Got about 5 miles to a gas station and couldn’t get it to turn into the station. Figured it out pretty quickly. It didn’t make any weird noises - just wouldn’t let me make a slow 90 degree turn on pavement.

 

Turning steering wheel with large diameter tires and no CMC?

Last update and I’m going to bed 4am here. I asked her if she accidentally had it in 4wd in the parking lot and she said no, no lights on the dash either. She said the tow truck driver said it felt lit the front brakes were locked up.

CMC done.

 

Gnight. Hope it's the brakes, thatll been an easier fix I would think.

Ok one more update, video of it being loaded up now. To me it throws the stuck front brakes out the window.

I believe engine is running and transmission is in neutral in the video.

 

Bet she was in 4hi. Shit came to a stop during the turn as it would on pavement.
"She says OH SHIT what happened?!?!?"
Then realized it was in 4wd.
Said to herself, "My Husband is going to kill me!!!"
She puts it back in 2wd.
Calls husband panicked and pretends it's the trucks fault.

 

I have a dash cam. When we get it back from the dealer I’ll have her upload the footage.

 

Sounds like the front diff is locking up.

 

Parking brake is my bet.

 

If it’s fine going backwards save on the tow bill and have her drive that bastard home in reverse.
