Cooking in a Galvanized container is absolutely a Big mistake.
Galvanized material and heat causes toxic fumes.
When I was an apprentice I was cutting galvanized angle apart with a torch ; about an hour job.
Spent the next 3 days in bed with no pay $
Breathing the fumes ........... not good on meat either.
I’m sure it was lots of fun though
Thinking how clever and novel it was whilst drinking too many beers o_O

I was an ironworker and we called that galvaniz poisoning , had to be careful it made alot of smoke . We used to drink milk sometimes before cutting to help keep from getting sick . I never had it bad but a couple of the guys did .

nope that was bar oil for a chainsaw.A bunch of the guys that go to this cookout work for Asplaunch tree company. But not like asplauvch dowb here they do land clearing. With fellow bunchers and skidders and stuff like that. The place we have it at is older couple that let them use their property fo a pig roast every year. Most of the main guys go up a month ahead a time to make sure everything is good to go for the roast.Clean up anything that needs it.Some guys take their trailers up early to claim their spot for the roast.
