Wicked Edge sharpening system. There are other, similar, sharpening systems. Some cheaper, others more expensive.

What makes these better than freehand is that they help maintain correct angles. They also let you reprofile if you want to as well.

Those work, but ok at best. Due to the flex in the plastic guide. If you're looking for guided sharpener, Wicked Edge or Edge-Pro are probably the best I have used. I have been freehanding for over 30 years, so my muscle memory helps me hold a consistent angle.

Not bad. It lacks the various different stones available for other systems, like the Lansky. It is convenient though.

I should add the demonstrator’s technique sucks tho. And you cannot apply any real pressure because of the construction.

I use a bench grinder with a paper wheel. I find it easy to use and easy to get a razor edge.

I was looking at that technique today on utube, It seem quick and easy. I think I saw the kit for $40.

I bought my harbor freight bench grinder and the paper wheel kit over ten years ago. I use it monthly and its still going strong.

A paper wheel/sanding belt takes some serious time to learn and lots of skill to work correctly. Amazing to see makers put the first edge on a knife.

Spyderco Sharpmaker. I can’t recommend it enough. I have sharpened many different knives on it (people at work bring me their knives to sharpen) and always been able to get a great edge. I suck with flat stones, but this thing makes it a breeze.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I have the same one. Super nice little knife. My only issue I have had is that it’s a little abrasive on my hand when I pass by it to get something out of my pocket.
It was some ridges on it on the back strap that gets me a bit.
Super sharp, love the size...I just can’t go jammin my hands in my pocket too quick.

Yea, I noticed right of the bat the girth of it compared to my Leek. Also the clip seems a little long even though it’s a deep carry clip. I think I’m going to call Benchmade and see if they have a shorter titanium deep carry clip they can send me.

Edit: I called Benchmade and there sending me a shorter titanium clip to replace the black clip.

I tried the Lansky. Had to watch YouTube for a few tricks and tips.

My Ace Biblio was impossible with any stone I own. That Lansky with diamonds got it done. My coworker won’t open my knife. He’s a bit clumsy and he felt the edge. It’s profoundly sharp.

I hope to get even more proficient with it. I’ll save it for the super steels.

    Nice.

That knifes size shocks me every time I see one in persons. It’s huge.
