It's about as easy of a job as you can get. Remove the tie rod. Remove 4 14mm LBJ bolts. Swing spindle out of the way. Remove LBJ from LCA. Grab new LBJ. Reverse the order. Use red loctite on the LBJ bolts.

Got them in the mail today, gonna do it tomorrow. You use a puller tool to separate the joint or just smack with a hammer?

I usually get a BFH but I know a lot of guys prefer a ball joint separator. If you haven't started already hit the tie rod and ball joint with some liquid wrench to help them pop out.

June 28th for the Pilot Rock -> Arrowhead -> Rattlesnake Canyon -> Johnson Valley Trip is confirmed in my Calendar.

@Bumble Bee Tuna @Tombiology70 and anyone else Thinking bout it still?

Also hitting Cleghorn or Pilot rock Between 545p-8p during these summer days is absolutely amazing. Traffic is horse shit on the cajon pass but as soon as that sun lowers over the mountain it becomes my absolute preferred time to drive

I'm down. I'll PM you for your phone number a little later as I was debating working a big overtime gig that day or doing some wheeling. I rather 4x4 so, barring any emergencies, let's do this! Who else is in?

I'll ask a 4x4 friend if hes down to take off that day. Be warned I'm a noobie but dont mind testing my limits or vehicle. A little trail damage is okay, just no roll overs :anonymous:

Side note, good tip about that sunset trip during those times! The cajon pass must be horrible but it's all worth it!!!! Like a long MTB climb before the down hill reward.

Our day was interesting...good to know there is a welder on the trail with us most times. This guy was stoked he picked our group to roll with. E6A48BF8-EB5D-4494-82F0-0CD913A280BE.jpg0B21D71B-30AD-4D96-B667-63EAEF2FAAFA.jpg

Btw @Prayn4surf , installed my LBJs this weekend and the new ones have zero visible play in them when installed. Was definitley time to change them out

Busted steering linkage. Not sure what Jeep terms are for it but it’s the equivalent of our tie rods.
