the amount of people just puking ideas out before thinking about if theyre possible is absurd right now.

parking brake: the rear wheels would be sticking not the front

accidentally in 4x4: you couldnt spin the rear wheels and have the fronts still locked up if in 4x4. binding doesnt stop the truck if given enough gas it just lurches when tension is built up and released by the tires losing traction and chirping.

my money is on some bolt or something getting lodged up in the brakes/wheels or the diff seized.

Watch the video towards the end. The driver rear wheel is seized.

video is not loading... given the information that the front was locked and rear was spinning- i figured i could assume it was the front locking... and the rear spinning...

Yeah mass confusion. I saw the video and it shows the fronts spinning fine. Then at the end, the rear driver tire is skidding across the ground.

    OP, FWIW:

I had a similar issue with a locking drivers-side rear wheel after I lifted my truck. My parking brake lever came from the factory with 3-clicks of tension when you pull on the lever (this was always wrong, but did not become a problem until later). Toyota spec is 5-7 clicks on the parking brake hand lever. This allows enough slack in the cables that articulation of the rear suspension does not to actuate the parking brake when the coaxial cables bend and straighten as the axle moves up and down.

When I lifted my truck, that 3 clicks of adjustment/slack in the hand lever was not enough and my drivers side rear wheel would suddenly lock up while I drove over any kind of ramp or pothole and it was fucking crazy. On a high traction surface it would stop the truck dead. It would put you right into your seatbelt. You could not release the cable as it would bind the shoe to the drum.

It took a long time to figure out the source of this problem. It had me and the Toyota techs stumped for a while. The backing plate for the DS drum was destroyed in the process (studs bent), so I needed a new one of those.

    This might help.

This is a stupid comment. Would you prefer his wife and kids were out on a trail, or on the side of a road with no access to help, to justify your definition of stranded?
OP is out of town, gets the phone call his truck locked up somehow. His wife and kids don’t have their means of transportation, thus stranded. I’m sure this guys stress level is 1000% as he tries to deal with this remotely, and make sure they are ok.
Cmon man... you’re going to throw shade because they broke down in civilization?
