Hey all, will anyone be around Thursday that could let me borrow a jack? Gotta get these silly wheels off.

Anybody in Bend know of a decent mechanic? Wife's Subaru motor grenaded over the weekend. Looking for someone that can drop a Japanese takeout motor in so we can get the car going and flip it. Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Subuguru.
Looks like mixed reviews. I have never personally used them.

That's where it is currently sitting. Haven't had good previous experiences with them and it seems like they are trying to bend us over a bit. Looking to get a second opinion from a different shop.

We have taken our 2007 Outback to Subaguru for quite a while. They just did the head gasket last year and were reasonable. I would give them a thumbs up. I have heard good things about Happy Danes, you could check them out too.

We've had a CEL for the last year. Brought it to them 4 times in that year, and they were never able to fix it. I was finally able to diagnose it, and it was traced back to poor workmanship on their part. Cost over $1k and 4 trips just so that I could diagnose and fix it. They are currently asking $4500 for a used motor with 100k miles (installed). Just trying to explore options after seeing their work the first time.

Yeah I probably wouldn't use them again then.
Idk I have had the worse luck with mechanics and went back to doing all my own work.
I was referred to a guy in Prineville I'll have to ask his name again .

I've had decent luck with Subaguru. Wade Bryant is a good shop with the AAA approval rating.

I didn't have him do whole exhaust but when I relocated my shocks he cut off from the muffler back and bent an entire tailpipe. For like $40 and super quick I walked to bimart and bam had it done fully welded.
Real old school guy I'd def go back.
The guy in bend wanted $120 to do the same thing.

Hey Benders, any recommendations on a junkyard that might be hoarding yotas? I’d like to score a new gas tank(and related items) for my 02. Thanks!

What's that place on 3rd? Family owned, lots of TV commercials. North of Greenwood on the west side of the street. Just north of ther old church/ pub. As one may guess. I suffer from crs (can't remember shit)
There's also a place on Reid mkt/ just past the light at American way [may be more of a body shop]

Hey Mike. Also just saw PM you sent like 3 weeks ago. I haven't been on for a while. I'll shoot one back in a bit. I need some sleep at the moment.

I sent you my # in a PM. Hit me up. Now that my wife and kids have finally made it out here, my schedule is a little less open, but we could still likely get together for a brewski.
