    I remember being where he is and wanting to buy my first car. I just want him to plan more for the future and have a little head start. Hard part is that he’s about to be 17 and I want him to start making his own decisions. It’s a little scary and exciting at the same time.

    He wants a Tacoma but I’m guessing that’s just because I have one. Idk... At this point he would probably fall in love with any truck. That is until he saw how much gas and insurance costs!:eek::D:rofl:

    Same here. First car was a ‘91 Nissan Maxima. Drive that thing to just over 350k miles. It had a ton of front end issues and I had to replace the torque converter at one point. It had no heat and I was living in AL at the time going to school. Froze my butt off for a few winters then I learned how to replace a thermostat and had good heat until I sold it!

    Exactly the way I feel too. I watch every little thing they are doing with my truck because I’ve had a deal where they put a huge dent in the side of my vehicle and then tried to deny it was them.

    Yeah, he’s not getting my truck that’s for sure. He will be learning on Mom’s SUV! Glad to know I’m not the only one who feels this protective over a truck!:D
