How and where did you ground your NMO? I'm going to try installing my Meso light soon, and I'm still not sure how I'm going to ground it.
Also, did you figure out how to cut down the RFI?

My uniden cmx760 picks up this brake booster interference also on my 2nd gen. When I remove the antenna the interference is gone. I found a guy on an FJ forum who was able to stop it with ferrite chokes. He attached them to the main power and ground wire to the booster motor and that eliminated it, or reduced it to a minimum not affecting all channels. I haven't tried this route yet, but hope to soon. I've tried just about everything else, from a noise blocker which made my swr worse, to relocating the cb and rerouting my coax, but not the antenna.

Another suggestion was to add a ground to each hood hinge. Helping to encapsulate the emi like a Faraday cage so to speak.

At first I thought the RFI I was seeing might be that, but it happens when I power the cargo lamps, not just when I brake.

I put some chokes on each of the LED leads, as close to the lights as possible. I also put one on a 4 coil loop of coax close to the antenna mount. It has helped to minimize the interference.

Oddly enough, I'm now noticing that the cheap LED I have in the dome light is interfering with the frequency for the key fob! It could actually just be the load that it is using. I think it's somehow linked to the same circuit as the fob detector. I'm hoping MESO has a fresh batch of his dome lights out soon, I haven't seen anyone with those complain about this.

Any one else running this mount? Do you need to grind off the powder coating or are you running it just like this?

nah, I got a similar mount in the same position, its really not in the way, you'd have to be pretty much brushing up against the truck to wack it, also I've never once cursed it out when loading stuff into the bed, I thought I would, but 1 year later, still good.

OP, if your antenna is not a "non ground plane" antenna I would suggest scraping some metal away from the antenna mount hole to make sure you have good connection there, and possibly around the bed mounting holes.

might want to take a multimeter and check continuity to be sure you have connection. alternatively if you have a SWR meter, that would tell you how well things are working, and if ground may be an issue

Thanks for the reply. First testing gave me 1:1.8 swr. I put a couple star washers under the bolts and was able to tune it down to 1:1.2 totally satisfied with that result!

Nah, have similar. The photo's perspective makes it look much worse than it is. I'd guess it doesn't stick out more than the bumper does, so IMO difficult to walk into.

I only scraped a little of the powdercoat by the bolt head contact area and my SWR is fine.

So its hard to see I know, but got some more mounts installed for the radio and tablet. Now i just need my tnc and rewire my mic port then it will be 100% (and a new nmo connection for my hood mount)

    How is that mounting system?
I think I’d rather mount my radar detector off that instead of the mirror.

I love the dmm. Been using it for awhile for just the phone or display. Pretty easy to install and phone didnt really move while playing in mud and sand

That sounds great, I just need to figure out some kind of contraption to hold the radar detector. Normally it mounts from the top.

You could probably 3d print a decent mount if you are able to measure accurately. That's usually how I make custom/irregular mounts.

I love being able to 3d print mounts, makes it easy to be too cheap to buy genuine RAM mounts and such

Seriously, its getting bad here. If I can't find a solution within a minute of looking, I just draw it up myself and print it.
