And just be sure that you find someone that has the balls to compress the spring. Had that issue last summer.
Found a mechanic that knew his shit. Will be going back to him with my pickles. :D

I probably should have said more what he said lol. Possible yes, recommended not really. Not really sure if this is your DD as mine is not, so for me the answer is yes. If your own pavement it won’t really hurt, I wouldn’t offroad it though.

On another note 8112 are being installed today!!

Are you sure whoever installed the 6112's counted from the bottom up and set them on the TOP clip position and didn't count from the top down to set them on the minimum position? There's no way a #5/4 setting wouldn't lift an access cab. Post a pic of the coilover please.

It was at 21 front and 24 rear a few days after install. Looks like it settled more?

    Now its
    22" front driver 22 3/4" front passenger
23" rear driver 23.5" rear passenger

I didn't measure preinstalled, I was going off of information that stock height was 21 fronts 22 rears.

That looks about right to me. 2nd gen with TRD PRO 6112’s and 5160’s. I’m sitting at ~22 inches front, 24” rear with Dakar 95R’s

Thanks! I was thinking I did something wrong because I didn't get any lift. But I guess it was just settling in.

Anyone upgraded from Bilstein 5100 + 3" Eibach coils notice a dramatic difference? I contemplated on getting 6112's but for the minimal amount of offroading I do, I feel as if a 2.0 shock will suffice.

I'm installing my 6112s right now and was wondering if there's a reason to use the supplied nuts for the top mounts instead of the stock nuts. Only reason I'm asking is because the stock nuts just look better imo.

But is there any actual difference with the shocks themselves? It looks like the specs are the same. Thanks!

I don't believe so but they do come from the factory saying left and and right so I would keep it that way.

Installed my 6112s today. 3rd gen DCLB set at 4/5 and I'm sitting .5" higher on the passenger. Hopefully it settles, definitely more than the advertised 1.5" lift.

I mean it looks cool lmao. I haven’t gotten an alignment yet....damn alignment machine broke I had to reschedule for Friday this week. Small drive in the way back home but it did feel good.

I absolutely love em and I’m sure you will too. Not only do they eat up the potholes but the truck stays planted and corners amazingly. Good luck with rig

A little bit of this, a little bit of that...
This might be blasphemous here, but why did you choose Bilstein 6112/5160 lift over, let say Toytec Boss, OME, Dobinsons or any other more affordable priced lifts?

first of all, I think that everyone should be able to do the ongoing research no matter what lift they choose to be able to get and what suits themselves and their truck the best. When I had looked into the aspect of icon, Kings, OME, and high-tech, I recognized that the 6112/5160 set up was a affordable option to still give me the performance that I needed mixed with the OME dakar leaf springs. I also recognized that the Bilstein set up was fully warranted and I didn't want to have the hassle of possibly having to continuously rebuild my shocks all the time because of possible failure. I've spoken to many people who have OME lifts and yes it is affordable, and a lot of people do like them, but a lot of them also get a Clunk in the front end that I was not comfortable with. Once again, this is the reason why I had gone with this setup and I think that a lot of other people realize this as well which is one of the main reasons why there is such a backorder for this set up, because everyone wants them for a lot of these reasons.

I don't think anyone else in the industry can match Bilstein's price-to-performance ratio on the 6112/5160 combo. You get the performance of a 2.5" / Remote Resi shock combo without the need for tuning & regular rebuilds. I'm not saying you could baja them like a set of performance-tuned Kings, but for like 90% of the people on this forum the 6112 is above and beyond what would ever be needed.

Agreed. Research is great, and most of mine encompasses asking actual consumers experiences, and i appreciate all the feedback in this thread.

I want to add a plate bumper, winch, and some armor later on, so my biggest concern with 6112 is i was told should not be fitted with 700lb coil springs.

If that is the case, I'll probably have to wait/save longer and get the 8112.
