I could really use a hand with someone that has more knowledge then me to figure out what's wrong with my front end. Maybe when you have some spare time one of these weekends you could take a look at it. It would be greatly appreciated

An unbearable squeak from the driver side front end. I thought it was the ucas bushings so I changed that and the upper ball joints. And didn't make a difference. So I'm lost as all can be trying to figure it out

I always keep a spare now, after mine went from noise to needing a tow in only a few days

When the truck is parked I can push down on my front bumper and it squeaks then too. So idk man I'm lost on what it could be. I have no sway bar so it can't be that

He needs a full set of dirt king arms.

I found my stether-scope, so we gotta play with that on his truck and see if the sound can be isolated.

It sucks. Goes away when it's wet out. Sometimes goes away for no reason when it's dry. I replaced the UCA bushings, both sides, and have lubed the alignment bolt only on one side. Neither of those have fixed the squeak yet. I'm thinking it's the metal sleeve that the cam bolt slides thru. The sleeve slides into the poly bushing. I had rebuilt my OEM LCAs last year with whiteline bushings. Perhaps I didn't grease enough. That's what I'm thinking. What sucks is I have to drop the LCA to do this. I also have to change the bearing at the bottom of my kings. I'll end up doing all of this at once, when I order the bearings for the CO.

I would buy them if I could spare whatever money you want for them.

I might swing by on Saturday as long as you're there early enough. Angel is coming over this weekend for tailgating with @skatefreak282 and then we have the XTU anniversary show that afternoon. Sunday may be possible to come over but it's up in the air at this point.

Sounds exactly like my issue. I noticed when its rainy outside it sometimes stop squeaking. But it barely does that.

Forgot to mention, Hit 220k on our way back from Assateague Island!

Also, Kaila took this photo for me while I was driving, so don't panic.

So, this weeks mini project started innocently enough, and has snowballed in the amount of work to complete quite quickly (@geekhouse23 can confirm).

    Beefy Shackles vs Stock:

    IMG_9149.jpg
    IMG_9150.jpg

I wanted to install some used 4X HD shackles this past Monday, so after a quick coat of paint, I threw the truck on jack stands, and unweighted the springs the same way @MY50cal and I did a while ago:

(This is sketchy and I wouldn't recommend it, but I was trying to beat a storm approaching. Besides, Safety third, right?)

    IMG_9146.jpg

Then, I was hit with my first obstacle, which was that the shackle does slide over the bushing sleeve.

The ears were bent, so while walking my dog I thought of a way to straighten them back out, using what I had in my small garage.

I remembered I'd machined some aluminum and took scrap stainless threaded rod to make a PFBB press, and if I flipped the plates I could use them for the shackles!

    IMG_9164.jpg

    This worked brilliantly!

    Before:
    IMG_9168.jpg

    After:
    IMG_9171.jpg

So yesterday (Tuesday), I throw the truck back up on jackstands, go to slide the shackle over the rear leaf spring bushing sleeve and it fits!

Next I go to put the bolt through the bushing that came with the shackle annnnnnnnd it doesn't fit.

    IMG_9181.jpg

Observant readers will notice in the second photo that the bushing sleeves are clearly different IDs, and I measured to verify. The ID of the HD shackle bushing is around .49", where the bolt OD was something like .55"

I could always take the sleeve to my shop and have the ID machined out, but i'd prefer to just get new bushings anyways that has a sleeve that will fit. For now, this 20 minute project which turned into a murphy's law 101 course is on a break, until Adam from 4X gets back to me about bushings. If I don't hear anything back, I'll just measure and verify that these will fit.
