I checked out your Instagram, and it seems to me that you should stop letting the wife drive your truck man! :anonymous::rofl:

Main thing is that the family is ok. One of the scariest calls you can receive is wife and kids in a car wreck.

Modded it so much it turned into a 4Runner
Had this happen to me on my 16 TRD OR. The left rear brake assembly let loose due to no hold down springs installed from factory. The pins were bent over to hold the shoes in place. When they let go, they locked the brake and rear wheel locked up. I assumed it was the parking brake so I rocked it back and forth until it broke free. Was fine for the first few miles then I noticed the cloud of smoke behind me. What I found was a mess of brake fluid and the inner workings of my left rear brake mangled all to hell. $74 and an hour to fix it myself in a parking lot.

I’m brand new (3rd day with TRD OR MT) but I swear that in the owners manual it says to drive at least 10 miles per month in 4H to keep the differential lubricated. Matter of fact I did that this morning. Did I dream this?

Owners Manual in truck will check again later. It was like a one sentence comment if I recall. Maybe different with an AT?

Are you guys saying that I should not drive in 4H on dry road??☮️☮️☮️

It is the same requirement for MTs and ATs. This is because the front ring and pinion do not turn when in 2Hi. The miles help lubricate all the 4wd parts and ensures that the electronic actuators do not freeze up.

You can certainly do this on dry, straight roads, and you do not need to do it all at once.

It is also good to try out 4Lo from time to time to be sure that fully actuates.

If your interested, this is happening:

Of course! She offroaded into the Walmart parking lot, went trough the parking stalls while crossing those humongous 5MPH speed bumps. I am sure their "expert mechanics" should be able to tell by the used chewing gum stuck to the tire thread. So don't even hide it OP, come clean straight away :)
