Last week we took my new little guy down to Virginia Beach for Puppy Boot Camp with some professional dog trainers we know. He's the one in the foreground.

We used to have 2 of them, love that breed and that is my next dog to get currently have a American Bulldog mix.

 

UNIVERSAL FACT!!

My grandfather had a Bostie who would fart in his sleep, wake himself up from the smell, and he'd cry and move because the stink was too much.

 

I had a dog that would fart and then look at me like I dealt it!! Funny!!

 

Mine does that now. Then he gets up and moves.

 

Usually it is the short-faced dogs that get gassy from gulping air, but our female Shiba farts audibly every time she tries to counter surf. Thankfully it is *usually* not too stinky. Here's my 2 hooligans watching me eat.

Super cute. I've always liked Shibas. What's their weight? Do they shed a lot?

 

We grow our animals big somehow, both are larger than standard Shibas. They are related, though. Kojun on the right is a giant Shiba and weighs close to 40 pounds. He's not overweight, just huge. Yuuki on the left is super solid as well, and she is in the lower 30s, a bit closer to what is expected. She is almost 2. Kojun's father is her grandfather, so he's like her half uncle.

Yuuki has only done one light shedding so far. But it will come. They blow their coats twice a year, and it is a lot of fur. I use a Furminator almost daily for a couple of weeks (outside) to help things along, but the dust bunnies and ghost farts in the house are unavoidable. I get as much out of the vacuum as I do brushing.

They are not an obedient breed and are not for everyone. They are smart and will learn, but sometimes they just do what they want.

Literally my old dogs...we had cameras outside and we would let them out they wouldn't even leave the garage and then bark at the door 2 min later always gave them a treat for the effort.

 

Bane is doing much better, turns out it was an ankle injury. Bruised/strained ligament..
