Thanks. Doesn't sound like I'm really missing much. I guess I won't worry about it.

It’s really for production stuff. I know joe over at mobtown uses it on his sliders and other products for a more finished look. I guess it makes more sense on something that’ll be going to a consumer.

Not too hard to get some. The wiring is pretty basic if you can access the main panel. The biggest issue is how far you are from the panel to your welder and the cost of the appropriate cable. Nice thing about 220 is the same current gets you twice the power or same power at half the current.

I’m in Redmond. I bought my 220 at Norco in Bend (next to the Harley shop). But I usually get my gas and consumables in Redmond at Norco. How about you?

I picked my 220 up online due to incentive offers. Got my C25/tank and some items at Airgas in Bend due to convenience, but my butthole hurt a little afterwards. Still need Argon/tank and was hoping to get some insight from other locals. I work at the project in Prineville and pass through Redmond twice a day. Not opposed to stopping by Norco if prices are better.

It is a labor cost saving thing where the splatter on the product might impact the sales to some people .

Having it brush off instead of having to be knocked off.

Some places have a fit if any splatter is on the product .

Then some sales people can sell lots of things they tell you that are a must

Norco in Bend price matched those online incentives. ;) As for gas and consumables I always ask what can you do for me kinda deal. They usually knock 10-15% off. Better than nothing. I’ve found Airgas to be expensive especially for their gas. I’ve been lucky to find all my bottles off CL.

It is always a regional price thing.

With Airgas with the SAP system changing prices takes several acts of the Gods in the old days a counter person could change prices .

It never hurts to ask if they can do better

Yeah, I ended up getting a decent mask and a bunch of consumable for free in the deal too. Will definently have to check out Norco for my future purchases. Thanks for the heads up on the local CL ad too!

2nd welding project. Making very slow progress. Excited to pick up a bottle of gas soon and leave flux core behind me.

Is my wire too thick? Or am I moving too slow? Trying to make my beads pretty.

Kinda hard to tell. My 1st impression wants to say too much wire speed and not enough heat.

Thanks for all the feedback. Im welding 1/8 inch Dom tubing to 1/8 flat stock for lighting and mounting purposes. The wire is .045 thick I usually use it on 1/4 stuff. And tried it on this cage didn't come out great.

Wow. That's some heavy wire. What machine are you using?

No wonder. Your a thief, not a welder!

    Just kidding.

Good on you for the score.
