Forget the money - that could have been a death sentence if it happened while pulling out in front of traffic or on the highway.

Well it’s pretty heavily modified... so don’t be surprised when it happens

OP should follow up with the shop. Needs to read install paperwork for disclaimers (did he spec it, did the shop?) and may not get his money back but may save the next guys life.

Why wouldn’t the parking brake engage both sides...? Just curious.

It’s “under warranty”. But the dealership can choose not to cover it because it’s heavily modified

So this is what must have happened. Parking brake engaged on the rear brakes and your wife was able to overcome the parking brake's braking ability with sufficient throttle. She only thought the front had locked up.

Weird stuff. I'll be asking about a rear brake cable extension if and when I lift my truck

@Icon_Adrian or any other Icon rep on here. Can you provide some insight on this for me? I've looked at the installation instructions for both the add-a-leaf and rear remote reservoirs and didn't see anything about adjusting the brake lines or an extension needed.

My wife made sure that they note the issue/potential cause on the bill but pictures are also a good idea.

first of all - thank you. i thought for a second it was my $1000. glad you cleared that up for me.

second - i think you mistook my statement for literally "forgetting" about the money. it's a figure of speech implying that the family's safety is more important than the money spent.

OP, glad the family is okay and they go to the bottom of the cause.

I am going to chalk this up to another reason why I would NEVER purchase a used/modified vehicle. The buyer will truly never know who did the work or if it was done properly...

Hmmm a bone stock used vehicle? That wouldn't make sense.
