Looking to see which dealer is the easiest to work with on the TSS recall. I usually go to Kearney Mesa Toyota, but on occasion go to Poway. I have an appointment in the next couple weeks but just recently found out that most dealerships will not do the recall if modified (lift, or Pro Grill).

    I have heard 3 scenarios:

    1. Does the recall regardless of truck being modified.
    2. Will not touch truck until returned to stock
    3. Does recall, forces you to sign waver, disables TSS with setting that it will stay in that state when vehicle is power cycled. Will also allow you to turn it back on and TSS will stay activated when car is power cycled, then disable again when wanted.

I would prefer #3 as I would like to be able to disable it at will.

I got mine done at the one in Pacific Beach and they didn't give me any issues with having the pro grill mod.

Is the recall just a software update?

Software and a cover over the back of the sonar to keep dust out.

Contact Eddy at Toyota Chula Vista. He'll take care of you.

Took mine to Toyota Chula Vista last week, no issues with doing the recall on my faux pro grill, with a leveled front. They even rotated my tires even though I have spidertrax wheel spacers. Most dealers or even discount tire wouldn’t touch that wheel set up.
