How's everyone been? Sorry for being quiet lately, we've been busy. :) We bought a travel trailer, and I'm having to get a CPAP so yay!

That's what I'm hoping. Doc said I stop breathing on average of 62.6 times per hour and my O2 sat goes down to 80% when normal should be over 90

My insurance only covered a home study. It was the worst night of sleep I've had in a while. Woke up a lot more than I usually do.

It is easy. Just a cannula in the nose, a pulse ox on your finger and a thing strapped to your chest.

Mine was fine, did it at a clinic. Woke up, felt the same as always and the nurse told me, yeah I'll be getting a c-pap lol

I did the same one for work, mine is so minuscule that it wasn’t worth the cpap. If you’re a restless sleeper it’s going to suck. Try and get plenty tired so you can sleep through a hurricane and you’ll be fine.

I used to be able to do that. When I was younger I could sleep through anything.

They took some general measurements to determine if I needed the test. I’m 5’11” and 270 lbs with an 18” neck. Apparently they think everyone with a big neck has sleep apnea, I frequent rock shows and also have wide shoulders. Sometimes people don’t fit into the cookie cutters provided.

That they do not, I'm 6'4" and about 250 (I'm hoping I have more energy once I get the machine so I feel motivated to lose some). Doc didn't really measure anything on me, looked down my throat and said with what I was describing from my wife and the shape of my throat that there was an 80% chance I had sleep apnea. Then the test confirmed.

Wife was after me for years to do a study. I used to travel all the time in the 70's-00's. Then I didn't much, and the first night not at home, I don't sleep, so I kept putting it off. Long story short, got a bite splint for bed time, and got retired. I think losing the stress at work did the most. Losing some weight doesn't hurt though, if your numbers aren't good.

I'd like to be back around 200. I don't want to be at my lightest, that was about 165. I looked sickly.

I'd be quite happy at 225! Long ago and far away was I in that 180 range! But, since 2 years ago I was pushing 280 and Type II, I'm quite happy being 245 and still losing with good numbers. But, I'm a little more aged than y'all!
