Although, I suppose I should just order the damned thing and just do what needs to be done.

One of the best things I’ve bought for working on this thing. I don’t mind crawling under the truck now.

Pics of install? Interior and exterior?

Are you glad you went with the 4 speed over the 2 speed? What ratio did you end up with?

Marlin keeps dragging their feet so looks like I'm going to cancel my order with them and order the atlas.

    Link?

Fuck Marlin Crawler. Go Atlas and never look back. I have the 10.3:1 Atlas 4 in my 1st gen and it's been great. I have some pics in my build thread as well.

I got a inchworm box and got it fast but yeah I really wished I would have gone with a atlas at this point.

If/when my cases blow I'm going atlas. Should have went atlas when I built my lefty/rebuilt my crawl box back in 2011.

I had an inchworm box in my old truck and within 6 months, the output on the box stripped out and took out my transfer case input with it. After fixing that, the reduction gear in the box blew apart another 6 months later. One year of service for that kinda money was disappointing.

Only issue I have had with mine since 2012 was the double row bearing puking a ball bearing out. Replaced that with a better design.

Only issue since then has been leaks but that’s pretty normal. And when I ever go into low gear I use the crawl box and very rarely use the fjcase low gear

But yeah, I agree with u, that kinda service sucks.

Called today and the update I got was that their builder was going on medical leave and would be out for a month. All my parts are in stock and have been pulled, but there's no one to build it. I'm going to do some more Atlas research, and will probably go that direction.

i suck at taking pics I'll try and be better when i put the black box in. Yeah i'm glad i went with the 4 speed (the black box i keep talking about is basically the front reduction box only another one so 6 speed atlas) My ratio now is 8-1 i love it and don't need lower but i'm going to do cuz i'm that kind of guy ( and it will be handy in the snow when im on 46" tires). Front two box's will be 2.72-1 and rear box is 3.0 to one. everyone keeps asking me why so close in the gearing options well for the front planetary there isn't another option so 2.72-1 is all i get and i went with the 3.0-1 because it was a little deeper than factory and that's the box that's in low range first it's a no no to run your front box in low and the rear in high puts more stress on the rear box.

At that point I would ask them to ship all the parts so you can assemble it yourself with a 20% discount. They are pretty simple to put together.

Atlas is the bomb but definitely a costly investment. Over time though

For me it was an issue of strength. I figured putting 300 horse in front of a race built A340E and put the truck on one ton locked axles with 42-46" tires would leave a fuse in the middle somewhere and i did not want that to be the Tcase and or crawl box.

My post only half way came through. In the long run the atlas is probably cheaper. At least less headache than the others.
