    Fuck rubber bushings.

    I needed to replace my ball joints, so while I was at it I decided to upgrade to poly bushings because the earlier year jba came with rubber and paint them black. I’ve always hated the red.

    What a hellish experience. I made a mess when burning out the rubber. Still have to change the BJ but I threw em back on anyway.

    So the rubber bushings that come with the original kit are junk? Mine should be delivered next week. Should I plan on replacing the bushings it comes with now or wait and do them later?

    Only old ones come with rubber. All new ones come with poly so you’re good.

    When did they start coming with poly bushings? I bought my JBAs when they still had the Ball joints that usta rust

    good to know. I'm at 220k now, so i'm starting to think more long term, AKA less wheeling to wheel, more keep up with maintenance to keep her running smoothly

    I've used the swingout like 15 times since it's been on lol.

    So I guess for my old JBA UCA's, a set of these and I'll be golden for a while

    I think it’s worth it, yes. Seeing as my truck is pretty much only used for wheeling, the miles they see are very hard so I wanted to make the upgrade.

    Since I don't have a zerk fitting, I couldn't even maintain the poly bushings unless I drilled and tapped for one huh

    Mine at least as the threaded spot for a zerk, and just has a little plug in it. I bought zerks for em. You can kinda see it here covered in soot.

    Edit: self tapping zerks are a thing as well. Don’t know if they work in steel but worth checking.

    Has anyone been able to clear the JBA UCA with 265/70R17 with 5" backspacing? Tired of the Light Racing ball joints and would love to get these. Also anyone with 5" backspacing running spacers to clear?

    Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but The T4R has more caster build in as far stock vs the tacoma so I’m going to assume that it’s the same way for the JBA ucas. You do you need so much caster...running 35 or 37s?
