    Hi everyone!
I’ll be looking at my first Tacoma this weekend and I’m super excited! I was hoping to get some opinions if the truck looks like a good deal and what I should look out for. It’s a 2011 AC SR5 4x4 with 202,000km (125000miles) I’ve attached the ad details in photos. I’ve negotiated the price down to $13,200, certified.
Please let me know your thoughts!
    Thanks guys!

What does 'certified' mean when you are buying from an individual?

Why a spring replacement only on one side? Usually they are replaced in pairs, even if only one side broke.

    Any service history records available?

assuming the truck mileage is in KM, then this is in Canada?

It has TRD OR wheels, so it could be a TRD OR, but...

Even a SR5 should have fog lights, right?

That seems like a good price if it's not a rust bucket, especially in Canada. (Aren't vehicles more pricey there?)

I may be biased by USA AZ prices, where everyone wants gold for their Toyotas.

    Hi Bill,
    Thanks for the reply,
Certified just refers to being safetied, ie. passing all the requirements to be deemed roadworthy - brakes, tires, lights etc.
Will have to get under the truck to check out the spring situation. Oddly enough the last Tacoma I looked at also had one spring break and just a single spring replaced.

    BF Goodrich Duratracs eh?

I’d be curious about a single leaf pack replacement as well. If it rides well enough and doesn’t sag on one side, that’s your call.

looks like an Ontario plate? ide inspect the frame closely even if he says its rust free. I find it odd only one side had the leafs replaced.

Thanks for the reply, I will definitely get underneath and take a good look at the frame. I’ve basically stopped looking at anything 09 or older here in Ontario unless it has a new frame.

    Like, so many.
Seems like a good deal to me. Is it a lot of rust?

Just noticed the missing fog lights... thanks for pointing that out.
Wouldn’t the TRD OR have a plug in the bed?

Yes, if it's a TRD OR, it would have the inverter outlet in the bed, and the E locker switch on the dash. (RR DIFF LOCK)

I found the ad on kijiji, its definitely an SR5 since it doesnt have foglights, bed plug and base seats.

The picture of the frame on the outside looks good since it was hosed down, but it almost looks a bit rusty on the bottom/flat portion of the frame. I'd definitely take a closer look.

To compare, my buddy sold his 2011 trd sport for 24000 with 170k on the clock a few months ago. so 13200 for a sr5 really isn't all that bad of a price imo.

Thanks for taking a closer. I noticed the frame also, however given the amount of
road salt we use up here in the north there’s almost always some frame rust. I have been avoiding pre 09s for that very reason. I’ll get under the truck on Saturday but this far is looks like the cleanest Tacoma frame I’ve seen thus far (seen about 10 trucks so far)

Wow, that’s a huge disparity between the sR5 and sport. It seems fairly reasonable to me as well, just concerned with the A/T tires, broken mirror and spring it may be somewhat beat.

Thanks for reply, could you please send me the link again? I’m not seeing it for some reason. I will run the Carfax before going to see the truck this weekend.
