Pretty slick. Offer unlimited ATM withdrawals to people who don't have a use for ATM's.

Those if us with $100 k laying around are just fine with it laying around and making more money than usual.

Don't mind me, just an observation.

Why wouldn't you need to use an ATM from another bank if you have that amount (or any amount) in your investments? I think it's a great perk, I'm not following you here..

aren't we talking about someone who has a lot of money in the bank making money on a high-yield savings account? I don't see them using an ATM taking money out. they're going to want to continue to make money.

No, sorry, this applies to your brokerage account, IRA, etc. as long as it's with Merrill (which is tied to your Bank of America accounts). It is not only checking and savings. Nobody would sit on that much without investing (hopefully)!

Edit: To explain better, all of your checking, savings, investment (if through Merrill) are combined, and the total makes you eligible for the benefits. Even retirement accounts would count.

Here you go, found this on their website. All of what you have with them is counted (pretty much). I am pretty cheap, so I look for this kind of program. As far as I can tell, if you consolidate everything through Bank of America, there aren't any better offers out there. If there are, let me know, but I have looked around a bit.

I think the rising tide is lifting all of the boats right now. I do wonder, however, what is going to happen when the Fed. decides not to cut rates. That's what I think will happen at least. Wonder if these gains will be gone by Thursday.

we are back at the "trade deal optimism" part of the market cycle. I do not like the idea of rate cuts - it never signals anything good looking back in history, and we don't need it. The economy is doing fine, even with a trade war going on.

The economy is far from fine.

They could only raise the FFR to about 2.25%. History shows it takes about 4% to cut their way out of a recession. Worldwide, we are the only country with a rate not so close to 0%. The majority of countries are near 0% which will cause them to go negative very soon.

Markets are only high because of QE, money printing, and tweets. This is causing inflation that is that is making equities 'appear' to be gaining. More QE and rate cuts are on the way, which will further distort things.

What makes you say that? GDP, employment, consumer confidence figures all look great. Only thing I have seen that is bad is the unprofitable IPOs and subprime auto loans.

I agree with your other statements

The doom and gloom predictions have been going on since the last recession (well, been going on since the beginning of time). It's amazing to read articles from 2011 about how screwed we are, and then the market has marched higher for the 8 years following that! Will we have a recession? Yes. Will it be terrible? Yes. But markets average 10% returns per year if you just ignore it all.

Unemployment figures that are stated by MSM is not the real rate. They don't consider how many people are no longer looking for work. Homeless populations are skyrocketing in major cities as well.

Consumer confidence. Well consumers have an ATH of debt and are increasingly creating more debt for themselves just to pay bills.

Markets did march higher since 2008, but are not backed by real growth. QE, money printing, and inflation have caused it. It says something when just a tweet can move markets.

Agree with everything here, but you know as well as I that the economic figures are what the country runs on.. and GDP is looking good anyways. Homeless populations are another problem on it's own. Many of those cities are not handling homelessness well (there are no rehab options, no drug enforcement and many of the homeless are drug users, we can thank opioids for that)

My only point is that you could take literally any point in history (100+ years), and the same doom and gloom predictions are there. And the markets continue to return 10% every year. That will not change.
