    Longer than the bed:D

I'd also rather have the 4.6l V8 from the Tundra. Toyota sinned an unforgivable sin in my eyes by putting so much BMW in the new Supra. I wouldn't consider buying it even if I had $60,000 just laying around. It's just not the same any more. Same thing if they put that inline 6 in the Taco.

All just preference, but if I wanted a BMW engine I'd just get a BMW.

Why not just get a full size truck if you want a big engine? No point in putting a big engine in a small truck.

The abortion that the new Supra is, is not a good benchmark for our Tacomas. However, if you want a sports truck... think Tesla.

You do not want a BMW in what is supposed to be a very reliable truck. I'm pretty sure that inline 6 won't handle off road and towing duties very well either.

I'd rather have ANY Toyota engine than a BMW motor.

Same reason the new Supra will probably be a flop. I know I'm not alone here.

That turbo 3.5 from the new LS would be nice. Or a more efficient V8

Because the size of the Tacoma is nice if you don't need the extra interior space or towing capacity

Lol, LS long dead? There's probably not a more popular engine swap.

I'd take a V8 over a 6. Give me something that makes power without breaking a sweat.

They are not. They are a staple of the offroad race category and resto-mod crowds.

LS Fest is alive and well. BOTH of them!

I came from a 335i to my Taco. Love my truck. I’d love more if it had the motor, transmission, and engine management software that my BMW had.

The tacoma makes plenty of power for a small truck. If you dont need the extra towing capacity you dont need the extra power.

I will say again....need more power, get a more powerful(full size) truck.

Chevy made a V8 Colorado for a few yrs for the people like you. Guess what? Nobody cared or bought them so they stopped.

I'm not saying it would necessarily sell well, but I'd definitely buy one with the 4.6 in it. Its definitely the opposite of the current trend of downsizing engines for better MPGs though.

NA V6 is the sweet spot for a midsize. Once Taco gets a blown 4 banger then we can all start to panic...
