Soak a clean shop rag in WD40 and scrub. It will take off the residue. Then a spot wash and a coat of wax.

 

There it is!

 

This works very well to remove sticker residue. Get from Amazon or perhaps a local NAPA store.

 

Can also use some Goo Gone.

 

Should be a good day. 4" maxtrac spindles, rear add a leaf, extended brake lines, 5100s all around and other goodies.

I think I have the same problem. I bang on the dash with my fist a couple times and it usually goes away for that drive. Sounds like your approach might be a little better. Can you give me some details to fix? I’m getting tired of the bruised fist

 

Retrofitted my headlights.
