Any idea if the gearing in the new 5spd (R156 i think?) is any different? Wondering why the changed from 4.10s on the 2nd gen 5spd to 3.90s on the 3rd gen

Yes,I know the R156F and R155F have different gearing. The R156F has a lower 1st and 2nd, and a higher 5th gear. 3rd and 4th gear are the same. Not sure about the non "f" versions but I would assume they are the same.

    nope 4banger

I mean trucks pretty slow with all the weight i have on it but i dont really care. If i took all the add ons off and just had tires id be more than fine.

Cool, i figured they had to do something in the trans if theyre regearing the diff. I believe the 5spd in the 3rd gen is only available in 4wd so there wouldnt actually be a R156 like i posted previously:oops:

Awesome! Hows it do with 4.56s? I went 4.88s and it turns about 3100rpms at 75mph

My rear end is still a mystery. I have a B07A. So an 8.75 open...with 4:30s? I went with the standard explanations on TW, but they don’t cover that specific code. Past B07As were 4:30.
