Probably quite a few BMW's out there running around with LS engines.

Sure, they are still quite similar though.

I was generalizing, but yes Ford has done a great job with that motor. It helps that they didn't push it too hard, at least in the standard F150 application.

For the most part. Almost all of the interior and engine parts are BMW parts. You can see it if you watch Doug DeMuro and Engineering Explained's videos on YouTube.

Sorry, Toyota Racing is joke. Didnt their Celicas in the 2000's have Yamaha engines in them?

Please share what's so funny about it? Every brand that has built a v8 compact (Chevy, GMC, dodge) has realised after just a few short yrs that it's not worth while as nobody buys them and production ends.

The Dakota V8 was a very successful midsize truck. Dodge sold gobs of it for two decades...until it totally f+cked it up in 2005.

    It came with a 3.9L V6 and a 5.2L V8 if I’m not mistaken...which is not small.

The Colorado V8 was introduced late in the trucks product cycle, probably helped keep it around a few more years.

That 5 cylinder never seemed any good, had the power of a 4 cylinder but used gas like a 6 cylinder.

A big part of why I have a Tacoma is because I didn't have time to keep up with a BMW anymore. I've had several (and still have one), and they are fantastic cars, but they must be kept up. You cannot just drive it for 100k and expect it to be in one piece. Maintenance is frequent and expensive. There is no comparison when driving one, but you pay for it.

I had a 05' Colorado Z71 Crew Cab. It had the 3.5 5 cylinder engine. I dont remember what kind of mileage I got out of it, but i was never hurting for power pulling my lawn mower trailers or boats. When it was running right, i really liked that truck(unfortunately i put way to much $ into it to keep it running right). The engine never gave me any issues though.
