looking at a second gen I found on Craigslist today for my daily and came across one for 2k. Seller claimed they were selling due to death and deployment. This is a scam. Don’t be fooled. eBay has no warehouses and in no way should you give these people money if you have not touched the truck with your own hands.
Here’s what the messages looked like...5237A38E-0DE3-4D12-B4D2-B3C14EE34623.jpg

Then they will send something close to this exact format:

    E7D18597-8FD5-4CC0-B3DC-F89E36CB9A3B.jpg

All of this is a lie.
Watch out for deals that seem too good to be true.
Also as a side note, these people had actual pictures attached of the entire truck. Inside and outside. Beware.

I'm trying to sell some furniture using Craigslist, and had 4 or 5 immediate responses from people that wanted me to take a cashier's check or money order. As soon as I modified the ad to state that it would HAVE to be a CASH ONLY TRANSACTION, no more responses!!
P.S. those furniture pieces are also in the "Kentucky Buy- Sell-Trade" thread on here as well! 5 Display /curio cabinets.
TOO MANY PEOPLE wanting to use a fake cashier's check or Money order, which the bank will take for cash, and then charge back to you once it's discovered to be fake.

The military leave scam is an old classic. So is the immediate red flag that they quoted the entire body if your ad.

Some of them do, this shit actually sounded legit until they mentioned the eBay stuff. They even had cross streets in Long Beach and everything. Sketch.

I can tell by the grammar that the person who wrote that is not in America.

It’s not that it’s poor grammar, because that could be anybody and wouldn’t mean much. It just reads like someone from, I don’t know, maybe an African country wrote it. Or India maybe?

Edit: Before anyone gets offended, that was not meant to be offensive. Just an observation.

I heard a theory that these scammers use bad english on purpose so that only stupid people will fall for it and they will be more likely to give them money.

Its just a theory, I can't tell you if thats actually their tactic, but if it was it would be prerty smart of them since if they used good english they would have to outsmart people who might be smarter than them and they might get caught or just never get any money
