@PinnaclePete, I drove past okemah today. Still looks a touch damp. Might take your rubber boots if you venture that way.

Beautiful weather though! I'm gonna hold off kayaking til I get stronger arms. :muscleflexing:

I don’t have any interesting photos (I think everyone has seen an engine on a stand), aside from this one of the flex plate on the original motor. If you look close you can see the one large crack near the center, and then three other smaller cracks. There wasn’t much left holding that thing together!08D27471-FA0A-4D1A-8A1F-13ABC0BB540A.jpg

So I finally got my DL changed over and registered the car and truck, yesterday. I had to go get assessed before I could register them. Is the value number on the assessment form what I'm going to have to pay in personal property tax at the end of the year?

    Yeah.
No, that is the assessed value. You need to find the personal property tax rate for your location, which will be a percentage of the assessed value. And you pay in arrears, so you won't pay next year, but the following year.

That's good that I'll only owe a percentage of the value. It looks like the value on the sheet they gave me is about 10% of KBB. I'd be paying 3x the pp tax that I was paying in VA if it was the full value amount that was owed.

    Yeah.
I paid about $1,000 on 4 vehicles, 2018 Tacoma, 2017 4Runner, 2015 Corolla, and 2006 4Runner. Back in Missouri I paid $900 on 2 vehicles, a 2012 Tacoma and the 2006 4Runner. So, it's not as bad on vehicles but real estate taxes are a little higher I think.

I was paying around $1000 for my 2008 Tacoma and 2017 WRX back in VA. I don't own any real estate, so I don't have to worry about that until I finally get around to buying a house.

My wife and I are going to be making a trip out to Arkansas over 4th of July weekend to visit her sister and husband. Does anyone have any suggestions for camping areas around Ponca, Mt Sherman, Jasper area? From what it sounds like we are going to be floating down the Buffalo River from the Buffalo River Outdoor Center. Any help will be great! Thanks!

Somehow my notifications for this thread got turned off so I didn't see a lot of posts until now.

We only have one small hive right now and it looked like it was struggling last time I checked on it. They were some that were living in the wall of one of my dads friends house. I left some sugar water and pollen cakes. Hopefully we'll be able to harvest a little next year.

Do you guys sell splits? We have another hive that's currently empty.

My dad is the real beekeeper in the family. I was trying to convince him to do that during retirement. Drop a trailer with hives on it in an orchard and go tour the countryside for a few weeks while the bees earn you some money. I don't think he wants to go that far west though.

Not gonna lie, been stalking your Fb pics lately.
