1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

For cutting metal. Slower than a chop saw but quieter, cleaner cuts, less mess, no sparks. Can set the part to be cut & walk away. It will auto shut off after the cut.

That one is 4 speed, set up with flood coolant, quick release vise, hydraulic down feed. HF sells the same one for $700 but made in China.

 

No, no. When you said the Taiwan version was superior I was confused haha

Yeah, with machinery, Taiwan is superior as opposed to China. Machinery like this, manual lathes, mills, etc are no longer made in the USA. Taiwan machines are where you get quality. I can't think of any lathe made in the USA anymore. Can still buy a Bridgeport mill made in the USA but it'll cost you $15K-$20K. HAAS is made in the USA but they only make CNC machines.

Technically we can hang one and it will work for testing. Just wont be as accurate

It'll fit perfect in his truck! Gonna need some help picking it up though. Took 4 guys to get it off my truck but might be able to do it with 2 strong young guys.
